Are you not angry over the path we're headed down, Scotty?

It really has nothing to do with the path were heading down. I'm 63 years old and for as long as I can remember the path has never been all that promising: Vietnam, the draft, trickle down economics, out of control internet stocks, out of control mortgages, welfare, middle east invasions, war after war, military control of the free world, etc. etc.
Trump offers an unattainable dream. When he says "I want to make America great again." What era is he talking about and what exactly does he plan to do to make it that way? Does he think for one minute the Big boys running the country were lily-white and without their own back room deals? Clinton offers more of the same and is winning because deep down, people don't want change and they certainly don't want to sacrifice to see that change. And if their wallet is going to take a hit, forget it. They want it to happen magically and without any cost and hopefully while they're asleep.
Personally, I believe if you want to see some semblance of change, you'll support Republican Senators and Congressmen so they can control both houses, then find a credible candidate for the presidency. Had Ryan been chosen I believe he could win. In every presidential election ever, candidates extoll the problems, (which everyone are already well aware of), they blame the other party, they promise a new beginning, and are then rebuffed by the roadblocks of Congress.
Our legislative branch doesn't give a flying **** about any of the things these two candidates are promising. They've got constituents to worry about, special interests to cater to, favors to repay etc. If anyone thinks Trump can walk into the Congress and say I want to cut taxes on the ultra rich because it will stimulate our economy, and think it will happen in the next day, week, year, or decade, you are one naive son of a bitch. The world doesn't work that way nor is it that simplistic. The world is more interconnected than ever before.
I'm not supporting either candidate. I support "We the people…"
You really make a difference by helping those you love, your family, helping your neighborhood, the kids and your community. It's really petty and trite to blame any president for our all of our problems. You can't change one thing without it affecting hundreds of other things not just now, but for decades to come.
Some wise person said, "All politics are local." Start at home and expand from there.
We're still the best country the world has ever seen.
Life will go on.
