dman - Just because you don't get Maher doesn't make him wrong.
I saw the comment by Maher, in my estimation he was just wondering out loud if the story of Chris Kyle is being portrayed in the proper context.
From what I understand, the movie isn't about just any sniper, it's about the American sniper that has shot and killed by far the most people. Oh by the way, his wife is smoking hot, and he had a child during all of his tours of killing a lot of people. Sounds like a movie waiting to happen.
I think Maher was just pointing out, in his own way, like he's known to do, that there's no reason to let the facts get in the way of a good movie.
Anyway, Maher's show is just another on a long list of shows that stir up people's minds. That's a good thing. Maybe you should give it another try.
