The media coverage and hype of this did not help the locals cause for peace much, or help control the situation, they were whipped up into a controlled frenzy by Noon yesterday as it was all over every major news outlet in America like a countdown, and once announced it escalated. Not blaming the media entirely, as anyone, white or black or purple or green knows better than to tip over cop cars, burn buildings and fire guns into mobs of police (an officer was shot in the arm by random gunfire).
The sad part is nothing will change there or other hot spots. There is a racial divide, and a non respect for law enforcement, and some of that non respect is deserved but in order to function as a society, all of us need to abide by the law and protest within the guidelines of the law. Sad we have not advanced far enough to get past things like this.
I sat on a grand jury once, and they show every bit of evidence you can imagine, and mine was a murder charge involving a huge gang slaying. It took 5 days. Forensic evidence, eyewitnesses, and autopsy's, crime photos, dash cam vids, and and I can assure assure you every conceivable angle and theory is covered in those hearings as prosecutors want to know they have a solid case headed into a trial with lives on the line.
Why I point this out is that these 12 people saw everything and every angle was thrown at them, and they did not indict. You have to trust the system and legal process.
One thing: Why the fuk would you announce this at 8 PM at night??? What are you thinking??? How about 10 AM in the morning in broad daylight??? They were asking for trouble...who was in charge of that?
