AT PREGAME YOU GET IT FIRST - TWO WINNERS FOR SATURDAY NIGHT

Today, at EVANGELINE DOWNS in Opelousas, Louisiana, the Racing Secretary drew for Saturday's LOUISIANA LEGENDS NIGHT'S Racing Card.

I may be out of town, in Opelousas, Louisiana, to witness a great night of live racing. So I wanted to make sure those who (believe it or not) take my info and selections serious, get these two  winners!

The first horse I want you to have, for Saturday night, is Sadie's Solider! We wagered on Sadie's Solidier about 2 months ago, at The Fair Grounds when he paid $35.00 to win, on the turf. Saturday night, he will be running in the $100,000 LOUISIANA LEGENDS TURF STAKE. He will be ridden by the jockey who rode him when we bet on him last time he paid $35.00, Kerwin "Boo Boo" Clark. While the morning line is not out yet for Saturday, I just read all of the charts on this race and I'd make his ML at 6-1.  He loves the turf and has the most experienced, talented jockey at Evangeline Downs. I love him in this spot! Since I should be there, I will have the advantage of watching the board and will wait until right before post time (8:35 p.m. central) to make my wager. Sadie's Solider will be running in the 8th Race with a post time of 8:35 p.m. central.

The second horse I want to give you will be the favorite! I am making him 6/5. His name is STAR GUITAR, and he will be running in the 10th Race (Post Time 9:25 p.m. central), $100,000 LOUISIANA LEGENDS CLASSIC, by Jockey veteran Gerard "G-Money" Melancon, a veteran who has won more earnings for horses at Evangeline Downs than any other rider. He is trained by Al Stall, Jr., the trainer of Blaine who won The Breeders Cup. There will probably be "no show wagering", but the exacta (which I usualy do not make), will be a cinch if you know how to read a racing form. I most probably will empty my pockets if he is at least 1/2, to win. Corey Lanerie was riding Star Guitar in his last few races, but he is in Kentucky and has engagements in races with purses that total well over this race. That won't matter as "G-Money" is quite capable of getting Star Guitar home a winner. Good luck to those who follow and if there is any way you can watch Star Guitar Saturday night, you will see perhaps the greatest Louisiana Thoroughbred in history.
