the numbers came up with the same horses for the preakness as with the derby. #8 firing line on top and the 1 & 2, american pharoah and dortmind for the place and show. but now there are new numbers to work with from the derby, but these numbers from the derby are all right there, not much more then a length or two difference from last weeks running.
the last quarter was done in a roundabout not to zippy 26:3, 27:1 and 26:4 and that's not even close to a last 1/4 in 25:1 or less being that's the kind of closing fraction I like to look for I like to look for
the fractions are going to be a little swifter at this shorter distance and you know if no one goes out with dortman it end up being his race to lose. I don't think firing line will want to go out again with the 6 horse bodhisattva in there do possibly do just that but if the 6 horse doesn't take his shot here then firing line and american pharaoh are probably going to have to engage in "last race same tactics" but only this time with this being a shorter race by a 1/16 then the derby, it gives firing line a better chance to hold on and gut out a win
