Arsenal will try to deliver a knockout punch in Round 1, excuse me Leg 1.
Both teams have decent sized injury lists but Borrusia Dortmund is the team who has the longer and more troubling one. Robert Lewandowski, Marco Reus, Mats Hummels, Jakub Blaszcyowski, Nori Sahin and Ilkay Gundogan will all miss out for Dortmund. Dortmund has not kept a clean sheet all season long. The good news is even with all the injuries, their home record of 9-2 in their last 11 champions league matches can not be ignored. The return of Shinji Kagawa is a big boost as well. Dortmund's manager Jurgen Klopp feels he was caught in the wrong place at the wrong time with all the changes that were going on at Manchester United. Kagawa will certainly be out to prove to the world who he really is tonight.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is going to lay his eggs all in one basket tonight. He's going to take a page out of Jurgen Klopp's book and high press the shit out of Borrusia Dortmund tonight. He's a shark who smells blood tonight and he fully understands away goals are what really matter. Nacho Monreal is out along with Mathieu Debuchy. Chambers is struggling(tonsillitis) and if he does play will only see limited action. Depth at the back is very concerning. His biggest concern on his injury/suspension list consists of defenders so his best line of defense today is to attack. No Olivier Giroud but he does have Danny Welbeck(another former Manchester United player). With Alexis Sanchez getting more and more comfortable being able to carry the load out wide with pace, Danny Welbeck will get his opportunities to shine especially against a team like Dortmund. Welbeck has pace himself which should cause Borrusia Dortmund worry.
