Golfers who made the cut at the U.S. Open will enjoy a flight (likely on monday) from the West Coast to the East Coast. That time change, as well as the 'sting' from falling short of the U.S. Open win, may give some golfers trouble in this weekend's event in Cromwell, CT.
The Travelers Championship is a much shorter course than what was found in San Francisco. The TPC River Highlands is also a par 70 but the distance is just a shade over 6,800 yards. Rather than the winner scoring over par as we saw in the U.S. Open, expect the Travelers winner to be double digits under par -- so lets find a guy who can not only score, but go very low on this course!
The players should have nice weather (95 degrees on Thur, 86 on Fri, 83 on Sat and 74 on Sun) without much wind....though there is a chance of some T-Storms on Friday and Sunday (as of monday's "expert" weather people -- haha).....but to be serious though, the rain is something to keep an eye on, though it's more of a risk for a delay and messing up when and how people can post their plays and even make their plays, than it is a risk for players to face bad weather while playing rounds of golf (from what the weather reports are saying).

It's always great to get some 'direct' info from those on pregame that know the course (and weather).....is there anything you can share with us about either?
Thursday is gonna be quite interesting, talk of getting up to 100 degrees. Also sunday with the rain could make for a messy final day. Frankly this course, taking weather out, is gonna be like a Tiger Woods game compared to what they just played at the US Open. But with the heat and crazy weather that we are preparing for this weekend it will absolutely come into play. This is the biggest field (name wise) that I can remember and people are really jacked up around here. I was actually able to play this course thanks to having a few strings being pulled for me. It is a absolute birdie magnet. My bets would focus on guys who have a good birdie average as well as GIR. Kuchar, Zach Johnson, Karlson, and Poulter would be who I would look for. Just solid players because they do not have to be long to score well on this course
I live about 30 minutes from course! The weather on Thursday, Sat and Sun should be hit and dry thursday chance of thundershower

You want a handicapping tip? Spend as much time getting a good number as you do researching games. Depositing/withdrawing/depositing/withdrawing is a bitch, but I guarantee you will lose less, or win more. I can't guarantee that for any other piece of advice

I've been betting golf for a while, but haven't posted my picks. This is a good of a week as any to start:
I love Ryan Moore this week. Playing him 22-1 to win (Bovada) and tournament minus 130 over Keegan Bradley (Brovada).
I respectfully disagree with the Paddy love. Its all about motivation at this late point in a major winners career. Winning the Travelers Championship doesn't change the resume highlights for him. Look at his major finishes this year: a 4th and an 8th. These results are much better than the collective average of his other tournaments. Its all about motivation now. Paddy also excels at the tough courses where a few under puts you in contention. I expect birdies aplenty this week, which doesn't setup for tournaments he excels in.
Again, please don't view this as ragging on your pick, just trying to offer some information that helps others.
My long shots of the week are Chad Campbellat 50-1(Brovada) and Nick O'Hern 100-1(Bovada)
