Phil Mickelson is in the news for a possible money laundering scandal. Did he do anything wrong? This is mostly the media trying to drum up some news it seems as Phil has not been charged with anything yet.
Scott feels the anything he did wrong was hanging with the wrong crowd.
Steve is confused. Big Shock LOL. Presumably Phil sent over big bucks to someone to make bets and that person had maybe a nefarious past and they got busted for money laundering. Now just a couple of weeks ago the 443 Bill came out making what Phil did legal, so why was there this huge need for that bill? Steve doesn't feel like he did anything wrong either.
Andy and Scott agree with Steve's assessment, but the only thing that they can take a look at is maybe the wagers were taking place off shore, which is illegal. The PGA has reprimanded him in the past for a simple $20 lockerroom bet and they may get involved here some because it does bring bad publicity to the PGA, but still the feds have not charged him.
Scott feels that it unfair the you open up a paper and see Mickelson's name next to money laundering.
