Internet buzz has started, including blogs like The Big Lead, about a shady late goal with a big impact in the Japan vs. Netherlands World Cup match.
In extra time, with Japan leading 2-0 - and the victory seemingly decided – Netherlands scored a goal that Associated Press described as “bizarre circumstances” … going on to describe the goal as a “seemingly innocuous header bouncing off keeper Kaihori's right arm and into the net.”
Here is video of the goal:

This play looks far from normal. Now the story gets interesting. The over/under for total number of goals in the game was 2.5. Meaning that this bizarre goal resulted in OVER bettors winning, and UNDER bettors losing. Without the goal, it would have been the opposite.
Bizarre circumstances plus money changing hands in Vegas has all the makings of a story that needs investigated.
