WTA - U.S. Open - Madison Brengle / Sabine Lisicki UNDER 20.5 (-105) WINNER
I suspect the journeywoman from Dover will be in over her head when she takes on a resurgent Lisicki. Brengle has been on tour for 10 years now and she still plays mostly ITF events where she routinely plays against women outside the top 100. She has attempted to qualify for 9 WTA tournaments this year and was successful once, in Hobart, where she promptly lost in the first round. She's only in the Open through a wild card and she got a gift when she drew #101 Glushko in the first round. Reality should set in tomorrow when she faces #28 Lisicki. Sabine has had a nice summer beginning with Wimbledon where she reached the quarters before bowing out to then #3 Halep. She opened her hard court season with a tough draw first round loss to then #11 Ivanovic in Stanford. No shame in that loss as Ana has been one of the hottest players on tour this summer. She then proceeded to win her first two matches in Montreal and Cincy before losing to #5 Radwanska in both tourneys. Sabine is simply on another talent level, one that Brengle rarely sees. She has never beaten a top 50 player and I don't expect her to come close tomorrow.
