Years ago, my wife then wife ( Susan Signorelli) had a role in "The Best of Times" starring Kurt Russell and Robin. I went with her to the set (in Moorpark) everyday for two weeks. I even got an "extra" job as football official in the movie. I worked right next to Robin for about 5 days. Conditions were harsh (middle of winter), it was very cold and the football scenes were shot in a (fake) driving rainstorm. Mud was EVERYWHERE and the truth is, Robin was an asshole to work with (at least on this movie). He intimidated the cast and crew right up to the director (the great Roger Spottiswoode). I never encountered Robin again but I wasn't a fan of his after that experience, although his talent was obvious. Now, perhaps I have a better understanding of his true personality. His work for charity and his inner struggle has changed my opinion...still, to go out ending your own life, leaving your loved ones to deal with "everything" seems rather weak to say the least. However, I know from experience that until you walk a mile in some one's "moccasins" things may be better left unsaid... RIP Robin and my best to your family.
If women ran the world we wouldn't have wars, just intense negotiations every 28 days.
Reality is just a crutch for people who can't cope with drugs.
Sad to see the news today about him. He was a great talent.

So a dentist, a pretend legend and a ghost don't feel left out:
When you look at Prince Charles, don't you think that someone in the Royal family knew someone in the Royal family?
Hey codfish, I just read about Susan's role (Taft woman #3) in "The Best of Times". The small town of Taft is near my town.
Did you ever eat at The White Elephant while they were filming in Taft? It's been closed a spell but the movie lives on for locals. Legend has it that Robin did four hours of improv there one night keeping the house laughing til 1a.m.
Bakersfield High is still the big football powerhouse, winning the state title last year.
Nice memory of Robin, thanks for sharing.
Hi Phil, Susan's role was in a restroom while they were filming in Moorpark, we never made it to Taft. All my experience with "The Best of Times" took place in Moorpark. I recall freezing conditions on the football field with hoses spraying us all down in sub 30 degree temps. Robin had a wet suit on under his football uniform, no one else did... we were all freezing our ass off and he was such a ****. Screaming at everyone to get to the final shot. At the time, it turned me off...
The truth is, the man went on to bigger and better things and now he is gone. I was shocked and sorry to hear the news. I'm not going to bad mouth the deceased. Robin worked wonders for charity and obviously had issues that maybe none of us could relate to. I refuse to stain his legacy in any way. My heart goes out to his family (especially his daughter who had his last correspondence). RIP Robin....
Word is Robin Williams suffered from Depression. If You have ever had a loved One with this unforgiving disease, You may understand what Mr Williams was going through. If not maybe You should eduacate Your Self to learn more about it. Not saying that was the reason Mr Williams took His life, but then again Who knows for sure. Either way its sad. RIP Mr Williams
