Great read Ken.
Just wanted to share this with you. From the time I was in 8th grade, up until and through today, I always dreamed of a SEC vs. PAC 12 All Star Game, at a neutral site. (I never thought the Big 10 or ex. Texas/Oklahoma and conferences like those, to actually go deep enough in every team to in their respective conferences, to offer enough participants from each team, that would make them deep enough, as a total conference, to hang with either one of these two as a whole). I wanted to use the two best conferences from top to bottom, with great players from every team, from the PAC 12 and SEC after the Bowl Games ended, to let these two dream All Star teams fight it out every year. In my opinion, as it stands now, these are the two best conferences in the country, top to bottom, and have been for many years, give or take a couple of years, but not many. Many other conferences have 2 or 3 teams to offer, but then they drop off and unlike my two picks, you would have 2 or 3 teams representing their conference, unlike my two picks where you would have guys from every team talented enough to participate and make it really exciting.
I know we have too many games being played now, with getting champions crowned in each Conference through championship play, then the Bowl Games, and of course who knows if we will ever really get the best two teams in a National Championship Game.
I do know this, in my dream game between the PAC !2 and SEC All Stars, we would know which of those two were the strongest from year to year. It won't happen, for a multitude of reasons, but its one of those football dreams I have sometimes.
