Great writeup man! Only thing that worries me was their pac 12 record last year. Wins vs. Oregon St, Arizona, UCLA, Wazzu and Colorado. Losses to USC, Wash, ASU and Cal. Basically, they beat up on the weak and couldn't beat anyone with a pulse. 5-0 vs the bottom feeders and 0-4 vs bowl teams from within the PAC.
I too would expect a better year with Wynn back. Awfully one dimensional last year and had to rely on the run. 2nd year in the PAC, 15 seniors in 2 deep with a total of 17 starters back. I think they are improved, but your probably getting the right odds at 25-1 in order to take them to win the league. Good luck this year and thanks for the Utah info!
Your post's are amazing Steve. Good luck this fall brother!
Thanks Sparty & Boise. Greatly appreciated. I realize wholeheartedly this is a huge longshot... Just a matter of the (few hundy) Risks lower than a huge 25-1 odds/Reward, & really see a scenario where SC beats Oregon in LA. yet loses to UU in SLC. & (as said) SC somehow slipping to a lg dawg for 2 L's w/ Utah outlasting all in South - now the challenge is if UU COULD run a 1-loss table & gain homefield over an Ore team w/5 of first 6 at AUTZEN, ect, much more likely to win North even w/1 loss....great topic either way. Thanks again, guys.
Steve,
What do you think about the Utes laying 10 to Utah St? I just don't see Utah St. being physically able to matchup with Utah. They lost their top 2 rushers from last year including Turbin who was the centerpiece. I like their little QB Keaton, but he's turnover prone. Laying 10 points on the road in a friday night game seems like a square play, but I just see Utah steam rolling the Aggs. What's your take on that game?
Forgot to mention Utah has BYU on deck....... Possible look ahead spot. Wow, now that I think of it, I'm not so sure about laying DD points on a friday night game, on the road, with a rival on deck. Still think they win, but I'm not real sure anymore about laying 10.
Good to see you back in the building, Steve ! Good luck this year.
This is 35-1 at bovada and 37-1 at 5dimes.
Steve couldn't agree more. I rated Utah as the 3rd best team in the Pac-12 with UW and Stan right behind. I love their coach and I love how they always play hard.
Steve what are you hearing with UW on the defensive side of the ball? Im just wandering cuz I seem to like the team alot more than vegas does in there goy games.
