Coaching staffs are the most over looke/under valued position in CFB, especially assistant coaches. Think back to Urban Myer losing all his assistants, to Dan Mullen losing Many Diaz to Texas, to Mack Brown losing Will Muschamp, ECT., ECT, they all had drop off's in performance the following year in those coaches selected areas.....This year South Carolina lost one of the best defensive coordinators in CFB & Boise lost their Offensive Coordinator, just to name a few....What assistant coache's departure do you find significant enough, that the team will suffer directly from their coaches departure this year?

I think it depends on the predecessor.  wil the team get that new coach edge boost with exitement in the program like a Mike Leach, and a H. Freeze are probably going to bring? Or is it just another guy put in the position to make up for the loss.  It seems like thats the case for S. Car but I'm hoping it wasn't because the AD knew EJ was going to leave 2 years ago.  Because of that they gave him a defensive head coach title last preseason to try to keep him another year because they new he was interested in the Vandy HC job, this enabled them to give him a raise.  There was some University standard that couldn't give him a raise without a promotion or something.  Also Lorenzo ward has been the DB coach for 3 years almost as long as EJ has been with the program(4).  Ward called the plays last year and EJ just basically coached them up in practise. So Im hoping in S Car's case the defense will not digress.

To answer your question though I think its going to be Bama, and Tennessee. Sal Sunseri left to go to Tennesse, which may not even benefit Tennesee  because they are the last team to handle another coaching  change, I don't think he's the type of guy that can bring that new coach edge boost. Thats why it sucks for Tennesse and it sucks for Bama because they lost him and 5 1st round picks.... I know they just plug and chug but good luck with that. thats like replacing two Cam Newtons or 2 Teebows IMO.

I dont gamble.... but I bet

Good thoughts Badfish & i agree, Tenn. has had too much coaching turnover! I still thinki Bama will be Bama as long as Lil Nicky has the reigns.......I don't follow the ACC too much, but I'd look to fade Fedora's tenure as I was never impressed with him at Southern Miss! He's going to get slaughtered in the ACC IMO & possible recruiting violations to follow. He did a lot of shady shit at USM (smaller programs dont gets as much scrutiny as a rule) that he won't get away with at UNC with the cloud of recent violations they have already sustained..........Auburn will be another interferon transition, that will Probally be for the better on defense with ATL Falcons D.C. Taking over the D, but question how effective Temple'a O.C. That took over Chiznik's offense will perform in the SEC.....going to be a good year! Also will be interesting to see want happens at Arkansas St. With Gus Malzhan........thanks again for your answer Badfish & BOL to your Gamecock's this year!
