What will the advantages & disadvantages of UW football team playing at Seahawk Stadium be? Alot of noise? False starts? Kids drinking so much tailgating? What will there record be? UW Pac-12 Champs 9-3 Kaboom!

Mike Leache's quirkiness is already rubbing off on he fan base! Hahaha, hope y'all have a big season, but no way y'all finish ahead of USC & Oregon in my opinion, but I know shit about the PAC......Hope y'all have a big season & a great time & GET MONEY!!!!

Yamoto, being a UW fan, whats your take on the Apple Cup this year? I think the Huskies will surprise people this year and right now that game is a pick. I'm leaning Washington. What's your take on your team this year?

Keith Price is leading the way as his knee has heeled. He's got to be the 2nd best QB in the PAC 1ST is USC. The new RB is the same physically as Chris Polk. We will see if the new WRs will catch the ball more than last yr. My $ on that! The O line is going to be the same. Defence got a huge shoot in the arm with Shaq Thompson but we will see if he lives up to it.. Apple Cup in Pullman this year i'd say weather will be involved.. I like the over with WSU Mike Leach throw attitude. Let's face it after Mike Price left WSU  program sank like a rock. That & party time got crack down on. Look at Ryan Leaf. WSU is going to take awhile to get back up after Paul Wulff destroyed them. Dawgs in a snowed out Pullman.

UW will not be Pac-12 champs! They won't even win the North division! The 2012 graduating class has seen their huskies lose to the Ducks every single year that they were in college and that streak isn't ending anytime soon!

Really have to disagree, also.

#1 REASON?
WASHINGTON HAS REAL DEFENSIVE ISSUES

Despite Sark cleaning house w/New DC
Dawgs Defense was increasingly inept, ESPECIALLY Late Season

UW allowed 38 PPG over last 1/2 of 2011 (32.2 for Season)
UW TOTAL Defense was #81 in FBS

Most importantly,
UW Front-7 quite honestly got pushed around
Washington's F-7 now Anchored (again) by 4 Underclassmen
Presumably more porous than ever...

2011 UW DEFENSE

UW was DEAD-LAST PAC-12 w/33 Plays over 30 Yds allowed (#109 FBS)
UW was #95 FBS Pass Defense (272 Yd Alwd)
UW was #97 in Opposition Red-Zone (88%)

UW OFFENSE

Good in 2011. Yet, safe to say, Dawgs just not quite as good as projected in 2011
LESS than 400 YPG (397) for a group 'destined to light it up
(Washington ended up #7 PAC-12 Games | 397 YPG)

NOW, (arguably) UW is pretty darn shaky at RB
#1 & #3 on UW RB Depth (Sankey & Cooper, both little used Soph’s)
Both have MULTIPLE ACL Injury History
#2 RB (Callier) should be serviceable
Yet ALL are a far cry from stability of 1530 Yd Rushing Workhouse, Chris Polk

Washington's OL wasn't quite as good as advertised, either (in my humble opinion)
"Mr. Mobility" (Price) was Sacked 3x per Game (#111 in FBS)

UW TALENT

Again, good; no better than AVERAGE
WASHINGTON: 9 Preseason All-Conference Selections
Ranking Dawgs #6 in PAC-12
(Not sure about most guys,
Yet this still seems like one of the few objective methods of gauging base talent level)

2012 PAC-12 PRESEASON ALL-CONFERENCE PLAYERS
(OFFENSE / DEFENSE / SPECIAL TEAMS)

1.  SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA 16 (8/6/2) 6 First Team
2.  OREGON 14 (6/6/2) 3 First Team
3.  STANFORD 13 (5/5/3) 5 First Team
4.  UCLA 12 (5/6/1) 0 First Team
5.  UTAH 11 (4/5/2) 2 First Team
6.  WASHINGTON 9 (5/3/1) 1 First Team
7.  CALIFORNIA (3/4/1) 3 First Team
8.  ARIZONA STATE 7 (3/2/2) 0 First Team
9.  ARIZONA 7 (3/4) 0 First Team
10. WASHINGTON STATE 6 (3/2/1) 2 First Team
11. OREGON STATE 5 (1/3/1) 1 First Team
12. COLORADO 5 (1/3/1) 1 First Team
(COURTESY 'PHIL STEELE'S 2012 COLLEGE FOOTBALL PREVIEW | VOL. 18)

Lastly, SCHEDULE & MISC

Regardless of where the Dawgs play HOME GAMES
UW (statistically) has PAC-12's most difficult 2012 schedule
UW has #6 most difficult schedule in FBS

1. Notre Dame
2. Mississippi
3. Iowa State
4. Michigan
5. Florida
6. WASHINGTON
7. Baylor
(Phil again)

UW playing AT LSU clearly vaults Dawgs S-O-S

YET, UW not skipping any of the PAC-12's Heavyweights doesn't help, either
(Stanford, Southern California, Oregon)
Catching 2 of these 3 at HOME (SC & Stanford) helps a little

Have to carefully add,
Many insider reports floating that Sark’s UW overall discipline is ‘laxed’
UW has been dropping year-to-year in Overall Penalty Yards in Sarks’ Tenure, too
(UW #103 Last Year, 64.2 Yds/Gm).  Just sayin’

Overall, just don't see UW having the kind of season you project.

To wit, already made modest ½ UNIT Wager w/Dawgs

½ UNIT | 2012 COLLEGE FOOTBALL | FUTURES
WASHINGTON | UNDER 7½ WINS (EVEN | 5-Dimes)

I could very well be wrong, just respectfully disagreeing with you.

Quirkiness aside...Leach is a oddly 'at HOME' in the Palouse

MOST INTERESTING 2012 PAC-12 NEW HEAD COACH COMPARISON?

Wazzu’s Mike Leach
   v
Arizona’s Rich Rodriguez

MIKE LEACH so often type-cast as an eccentric screwball of sorts.
This seems to devalue Leach’s consistent, exceptional Decade of work at TT

AZ Quick Fix HC, RICH RODRIGUEZ on the other hand….
Different story, in my opinion

Leach STILL clearly under-appreciated & undervalued
Rich-Rod might be slightly OVER-HYPED

LEACH’s Record?
I sincerely had to re-visit Mike Leach's Numbers
To be certain I was reading them accurately … &
His Coaching stats were as good as I thought they were

MIKE LEACH

Winning Records & Bowls: 10 of 10 Seasons
84-43 (66%)

First Year in Lubbock was Leach's ONLY Conf LOSING Yr in Conf (3-5)
47-33 (59%) Conference

6-4 Bowls (6-2 Last 8)
Top 25 Finish 5 of last 6 Years

We all know where Leach coached for 10 Years…
Yet, I’m going to repeat it anyway
All of this in LUBBOCK, Texas, in the ROBUST BIG-XII

2000 Texas Tech 7–6  | 3–5 4th (South) L Galleryfurniture.com
2001 Texas Tech 7–5  | 4–4 T–3rd (South) L Alamo
2002 Texas Tech 9–5  | 5–3 T–2nd (South) W Tangerine
2003 Texas Tech 8–5  | 4–4 4th (South) W Houston
2004 Texas Tech 8–4  | 5–3 T–3rd (South) W Holiday #18
2005 Texas Tech 9–3  | 6–2 T–2nd (South) L Cotton #20
2006 Texas Tech 8–5  | 4–4 4th (South) W Insight
2007 Texas Tech 9–4  | 4–4 T–3rd (South) W Gator #22
2008 Texas Tech 11–2 | 7–1 T–1st (South) L Cotton #12
2009 Texas Tech 8–4 | 5–3 3rd (South) W Alamo Bowl 21

RICH RODRIGUEZ

West Virginia
60–26 (69.8%) Overall | 34–14 (71%) Conference

Damn Good, yet 3 fewer seasons
Big East Conference & Morgantown in midst of Pennsylvania Recruiting Hot-Bed
"Iron-Triangle" of the Allegany, 1 Hr from Pittsburgh,
w/close proximity to Philly/Newark, Ohio & Missouri Valley
A Recruiters' Haven & WVU well-established CFB Program
Rich-Rod had a FAR better situation in WV than Leach at TT
Even w/2-4 Bowl Record (Overall)

Rodriguez put together 3-Years of sensational success at West Virginia
RR: 86.5% Win Rate in his last 3 WVU Years

(Glenville State 43–28 | 32–15)
West Virginia (Big East Conference | 2001–2007)

2001 West Virginia 3–8 | 1–6 7th
2002 West Virginia 9–4 | 6–1 2nd L Continental Tire #25 Rank Seasons’ End
2003 West Virginia 8–5 | 6–1 T–1st L Gator
2004 West Virginia 8–4 | 4–2 T–1st L Gator
2005 West Virginia 11–1 | 7–0 1st W Sugar #5 Rank Seasons’ End
2006 West Virginia 11–2 | 5–2 T–2nd W Gator #10 Rank Seasons’ End
2007 West Virginia 10–2 | 5–2 T–1st Fiesta #11 Rank Seasons’ End

THEN Rodriguez' rebuilding task in Ann Arbor
That proved to be a miserable experiment

RODRIGUEZ | MICHIGAN:
2008 Michigan 3–9 | 2–6 T–9th
2009 Michigan 5–7 | 1–7 T–10th
2010 Michigan 7–6 | 3–5 T–7th L Gator
RICH RODRIGUEZ at MICHIGAN
Overall 15-22 (40.5%)
Conference 6-18 (33.3%)

49-36 (57.6%)

I'd argue that the task in front of Rich Rod is truthfully, a bit steeper
As moribund as life in Pullman has been for the last half Decade,
The Cougs have a reasonably stable Roster &
HC Mike Leach, in a familiar set of variables as he had in Lubbock
Is honestly 'In His Element' on the Palouse
Moreover, Coug endowment has now funneled a serious amount into Wazzu Football
Martin Stadium is undergoing a major Facelift, ect

Rich Rod inherits a Football Program at a Basketball School,
One that also just Won a Nat'l Title in Baseball
Fans here in Corvallis can confirm
(OSU Won BTB CWS Titles in 06 & 07)
Most if not available MONEY following a Baseball Title(s)
Tends to get gets funneled toward locking up Coaches
&/or BASEBALL Facilities, ect

Az Stadium is a DUMP
Rodriguez may have a very difficult time &
Az Football task is BIGGER rebuild than the initial appearance in Tucson

For what it's worth

u can throw last years stats out! New Year New Team. Like Stanford without Luck & the Washington O line man from Washington drafted to Pitt.. still got them over Washington. That team got a flat tire.

I see Oregon took the weak schedule. Looks like Boise State put the hammer down on how they schedule. Does Oregon still have that wall of shame on campus? It was like 8 players on it the kicker the LB who went for revenge the QB who stole laptops weed ect. he ended up transfering to Oregon state i believe. Blunt the socker hot head. Anyways without Knight backingthe way Oregon would need to see the shrinks..
