  • I flip flopped on this game like non other in recent BCS History.  Seeing that Spartan and Marco had GOY's on this was a shock to me, but when your side wins in a shutout, their confidence level was higher than mine, but none the less a Winner last night on Bama as my final play.  I did not expect a shutout, and I did not expect a low scoring game overall....but a win is a win, and clearly the right side was Bama.

I thought this game boiled down intangibles, and anyone who reads my game analysis can see my MAIN KEY was Nick Saban outcoaching Les Miles in this second go around.  He clearly did.  LSU never got off the bus, and that CLEARLY lies in coaching a team up for a big game.

I am NOT a Les Miles fan.  He can recruit, but his coaching flaws over the years have been exposed numerous times, none so glaring as last night.  0 points fromt he #1 ranked team in the nation.  Enough said.

Sometimes it boils down in NCAA Football to coaching as the main KEY in teams being prepared and on the same page with a gameplan, especially in big games.  Yes, players play the game, but young men are also led by a true leader and follow them in to battle with a torch in one hand and a sword in the other.  Alabama clearly did that last night, and someone pissed on LSU's torch last night.

Wether you love Saban or despise him, you have to hand it to him, he and his staff coached LSU's coaching staff asses off last night and came out with a big win.

  • tigers won the party, but lost the game and this shit happens...

  • In your write-up you said; "at days end, as a pro capper you have to pick these big games"

    Why?

You want a handicapping tip?  Spend as much time getting a good number as you do researching games. Depositing/withdrawing/depositing/withdrawing is a bitch, but I guarantee you will lose less, or win more.  I can't guarantee that for any other piece of advice

    CBB: 64-39 (+42.78)

    NFL: 34-41 (+15.46)

    CFB: 21-22 (-4.5)

    Other Stuff: +12

    2011 Fiscal Year: +24.04

    Pending Futures:

4* Mitt Romney to win election (+700)

    Overall: +84.33

  • I found little value in the line itself.  My standard capping stats, power ratings and ect said it could go either way and I felt the line was sharp with a 1or 1.5  point overlay as I has Alabma at 101 rating and LSU at a 97 rating.  The line was 2.5 and closed at 3 in some places.  After looking at the final score that is a moot point.  I rarely make a move on a play unless the gap is 4 or more.

In marquee games to end the season as paid pro capper, I WILL have a play.  It makes me hesitant when I find line value lacking and base a play on the intangibles. This does snot happen often.  While intangibles do come into play in my selections daily, the major emphasis is more on stats, line value, man to man mis-matches, power ratings and ect... this was a game I felt could go either way but to me the one glaring thing was not line or stat related, was the ability to coach in a big game, and Nick Saban was clearly my only way to look...as stated Les Miles is not in the same leauge as Saban.

...this was a very rare occasion where I felt vlaue laid outside the line...which again, it not how I handicap 95% of the time.  Hope this makes sense.

  • Oh and WHY pick em?  Well when have numerous Bowl Package clients for the post season, not to give those clients a play in the biggest game if the year is not an option LC.
