Here's my take on the Huskies, and in particular QB Browning....
I've watched every UW game the last 2 years including a couple scrimmages. From day #1, I noted that Browning rarely interacts with teammates on the sidelines, and during interviews acts like he's doing the interviewer a favor answering questions.
As with most surly, somewhat anti-social attitudes, I suspect that behavior is masking underlying insecurities that cause him to choke under pressure.
His gaudy stats were put up against weak defenses where he often had all day to throw to excellent receivers who on several occasions made great catches on his underthrown passes.
When under pressure, Browning has wilted in a big way illustrated by his lackluster performance against WSU and downright embarrassing performances against USC and Colorado. Him being considered a Hypeman finalist is ludicrous.
For my $, Chris Petersen is thee best coach in the country but he has a tall order ahead of him to get Browning's head together to prevent future big game meltdowns.
All that said, I hope Browning can turn the corner as I like this Husky team from both a fan and wagering perspective, but ain't gonna lay down a cent until I see evidence of Browning playing well in a big game.
