171 UNLV -1.5 vs 172 Wyoming
Analysis: Both teams are ending their seasons this week with neither team eligible to go Bowling. Wyoming is 1-10 and has lost 4 in a row following its lone win (28-21 over Nevada) which followed an 0-6 start. How bad has Wyoming been? The Cowboys started the season with a home loss, 24-13, to an FCS school, North Dakota which was followed by another home loss, this time to lowly Eastern Michigan, 48-29. It would turn out to be Eastern Michigan's only win in a 1-11 season. Meanhile UNLE is 3-8 with a chance to double last season's win total (2) under first season coach Tony Sanchez. Sanchez has gotten glowing reveiws all around for the job he has already done in turning this program around. While Wyoming was losing to Eastern Michigan and North Dakota, among others, UCLA was playing a tough early season schedule. That schedule did produce road losses to Northern Illinois and Michigan in addition to a home loss to UCLA. But that tough schedule set the tone for a season that also featured close losses to San Jose State (in overtime) and at Fresno State. The step up in class has served the Rebels well who take the field vs Wyoming knowing that have competed very well against much better teams than the Cowboys. Look for UNLV to conclude what most would consider in not a truly positive season one in which at least many positive steps were taken. Look for the Rebels to win by from 7 to 10 points.
