A bit later than usual this week, but here's the up to date rundown of where the sharp money has been showing this week in college football. Note the info is garnered from a variety of sources within Nevada, as well as offshore and at underground stores stateside. Any observations are from the contacts.
106 Kentucky has drawn sharp action this morning and that line has now dropped fairly significantly.
110 Stanford is drawing some pro dough, although it's not a landslide by any means.
126 Florida Atlantic has gotten some sharp play. Not the first time this year a Marshall opponent has been played, but the Thundering Herd keep covering.
132 Middle Tennessee drew some early pro money and the public has jumped in as well on the Blue Raiders.
133 Georgia State has taken a bit of wise guy action, not heavy but with this being a low volume game, enough to move the line.
157 Air Force was heavily played early and this is another game that has become very popular with the steam chasers.
161 Florida is now getting sharp play. The line was adjusted for the Grier suspension and the pros decided to take the points when that happened.
171 Virginia Tech is getting hit pretty hard now. Speculation is that the Hokies might get Brewer back for this game, but my sources indicate that this is mostly anti-Miami money.
174 Michigan is fascinating, in that the public is banging the dog but the sharper dollars have been on the Michigan side. One of my guys said that he's gotten hit with sharp action every week on the Wolverines and that this line apparently did not scare anyone away.
182 East Carolina got spiked this morning, but from what I can gather this was not pro money.
187 Charlotte has gotten some play, and again this is a game where the volume is low and even a small dose of sharp money was going to move the line.
189 Vanderbilt got played early, and that was before the Spurrier announcement. The public has now also joined in firing on the Commodores.
208 Ohio State is getting the bulk of the pro dollars as big chalk against Penn State, although the public ticket count is actually favoring the Nittany Lions.
241 Washington was a substantial sharp side early, and the Huskies are now also getting the bulk of the public action.
As always, use this info simply as a guide and don't get overly influenced to the point it might override your own assessment of a game. Good luck this weekend!
