CFB is a bit of a different animal..Very similiar to CBB....#1 focus on what the past and current roster looks like..Look for those guys who moved on to the NFL or those SR players who are now graduated.....My plan to win for 2015 is to know these teams i have isolated inside and out..i have a great understanding of what these teams looked like last year, and how they produced on the field..Now is the time to make those adjustments with new players and coaches....That's just a start to my process....LINE VALUE IS KEY!!...I won't wait to drop my games..Just like the NFL the line value in CFB is crucial...I tend to focus on the smaller schools, because i find those games easier to exploit as the week moves on..We will beat the line moves this year again....When handicapping CFB games we look at the next weeks schedule for situation spots..Letdown games etc...That is when i make my numbers for the next week..I generally do my numbers 8 or 9 days in advance..So when the numbers drop for the next week, i'm clued in..You can adjust for injuries and things of that nature as the games are being played..It makes for an easier work week, plus the capping is much more solid IMO....I will READ, READ, READ !!!....I'm not one for sitting down reading articles all day...In CFB and CBB in my experience it's a big help to get clued into what the local papers are saying..SO I WILL READ !!..It's a big help to have the conf you focus on bookmarked...i do this and read everything i can...The CFB injuries and suspensions are not always on the wire..You have to dig for things of that nature...I will use this as well..If you are new to handicapping...READ CFB ARTICLES FROM LOCAL OUTLETS !!....Forget about the preseason rankings..They will hurt you..I don't and won't focus on them at all....Take a look at last years preseason rankings, and i can tell you 10 teams that hurt the bettors due to "School Name"...Get that out of your mind...I have and that's another way to avoid disaster....Making adjustments fast...This i can't stress enough..CFB IMO is the one sport you can adjust faster then the books...Just to many games and teams for them to focus on early on....If you have the time, WATCH AS MANY GAMES AS YOU CAN...Don;t rely on numbers early to get you through the early part of the season..As the season goes along the numbers become more useful !!..That's why we have much more success later in the season as well.
Here is something you all can do ---> http://espn.go.com/nfl/draft
This is for myself, but i will mark down the schools that lost players that are play makers..Guys who moved the chains...I go back through and see if they are replaced by a #2 or see if they are sitting with youth now..Some teams you will notice lose 4, 5 ,6 guys to the draft that are play makers..This changes the landscape of the teams new look and ranking IMO..just something to look at that takes time, but it can and will help.
This is for myself again...If you are watching as many games as you can....First off have a pen and paper with ya if you are serious about winning...Watch these games and right down all injuries that occur and things that will hurt or help a team next week..Often times if you are writing things down, teams will be playing teams the following week..You are way ahead of the game.....I can't tell you how many times i have seen key players drop out in a game on the same team, and the line is still available for the next week with the number that i had previous to the injuries...Take notes..i do, and this is one thing i always look at when i go through specific games...It just helps guys...We all have a good memory, but we all will forget that the teams only center went down with a ankle injury when it's to late..
i can go on and on about my plan to win this year....Take notes, write down your mistakes, READ, BEAT THE LINE MOVES, and don't buy into the hype!!....If a team wins by 40 against a no name school, be careful..do the work..I do and that's my plan to win....We did very well last year in CFB..Bowl season didn't go so well however...I will put a full CFB season together this year !!..Sorry i rambled..I'm just very excited to get this season underway so we can crush the damn books!!
