Let's not forget this Michigan defense only allowed 311 yards a game last season. Harbaugh brought with him some coaches that worked with him at Stanford and San Fran . Also, the Special Teams coach finished in the Top 35 all 4 years at USC. Harbaugh also had some very good special teams while at Stanford. I will also note that Jabrill Peppers was the #1 ranked safety out of high school and he got injured last year and took a redshirt. He will be 100% healthy this season and is a 'freak' on the field. The secondary also gets a Stanford transfer that had 22 starts at Stanford in 3 years.
Michigan's runnig backs are big and strong. The top 3 on the depth chart are listed at 228 lb, 234 lb, and 240 lb. Ty Isaac is an USC transfer and a top recruit out of high school. I think the Wolverines will plow through the Utah defensive line that lost their starting DL to the NFL draft (18.5 sacks last season). Also, the Utah secondary lost 110 career starts. This season, their FS is a former QB and I have to think we will see a few blown coverages. Look for the run game to dominate and to open up for play-action down the field.
I'm not taking anything away from this Utah team. They have some favorable matchups this season, but I don't see this as being one of them.
