I have a little more time this week so I thought I's like to share my thoughts
Top news: SEC put 4 teams on the top 5 in AP poll, first ever in CFB history. All 4 from the SEC West
The SEC has put 3 teams in the top 5 sixteen times since 2009 (AP News)
Bye Week: Miss St/Auburn/Vandy/ S. Carolina (vs FCS team)
Arkansas vs Georgia: Hogs lost 32-45 at home vs Georgia. Hang over from the last 2 close losses showed
in this game as the Hogs was completely outplayed, outmanned, and outcoached by Dawgs. Final score
is not even close on how bad the Hogs was beaten. Dawgs scored 31 points in 2Q to put the game away
Hogs QB Brandon Allen had career highs in Pass Attempts (45) and yardage (296) The Hogs was undone
by silly penalties and committed a -4 TO's margin. Dawgs freshman RB Nick Chubb is a real deal in
absence of Todd Gurley rushing for 345 yards in 2 games.
I had predicted the Hogs would go 4-8 this year and it is looking that way though an upset of LSU or
Mizzou is possible. The Dawgs is pretty much shoe-in to win the East and a Playoffs berth if they can
upset the SEC West champ.
Alabama vs A&M: Tide demolished the Aggies in a 59-0 shut out. It's the first shut out vs coach Sumlin
The Tide outgained 602 yards to 172 Aggies yards. The Tide played angry, after 1-point win vs Hogs
last week, the whole game with great balance on offense 298 rush and 304 pass yards and a dominant defense. The Aggies simply laid an egg and played exactly like what I thought they were but surprised me with a great performance vs the Cocks in week 1. Turns out the Cocks is not that great this year. Though still have a good chance, I do not think the Tide can make it to the Playoffs with 3 difficult games ahead. The Aggies is certainly a pretender this year and a mid-tier Bowl is difficult to avoid.
Tenn. at Ole Miss: The Rebels cruised to an easy 34-3 win with its defense, holding the Volunteers to
ZERO rush yard. The Rebels was trailing 3-0 in 1Q then proceeded to score the next 34 points. The
Volunteers OL with all new starters this year continues to suffer and gave up 7 sacks to a dominant
Rebels pass rush. Ole Miss. only gave up 6 TD so far this season and currently atop the SEC in scoring
defense at 10.6 points per game. Next up for the Rebels is an improved LSU team in Baton Rouge. Rebels controls its own destiny, and a great probability, to win the West with 2 hardest games at home. With so many new faces Volunteers may need 2 more years under B. Jones to compete in SEC. With some luck Tenn. might make a Bowl with 4 of 5 remaining games are winnable
LSU vs Kentucky: An improving Cats found out how tough life is in SEC West, losing 3-41 to the Tigers.
LSU with a dominant rushing game, 303 yards, led by Terrence Magee with a career high 220 all purpose
yardage. I still do not see LSU as a contender this year in a loaded SEC West division. They probaly
end up with 4 losses this season. The Cats is improving greatly this season under 2nd year HC Mark Stoops
on both sides of the ball, and with a win at Tennessee would earn them a nice Bowl this year.
Mizzu at Florida: A strange game as the Tigers won 42-13 but managed only 119 total offensive yards. The Gators
is done and I'd be surprised if Muschamp does not get fired. Gators offense gave up 6 TO's in this
contest despite a stellar defensive effort. Unbelievable. Maty Mauck, Tigers QB, is very inconsistent this year and so does the team and it shows on the field. It's incredible to see how poorly the Tigers has played but they still sit at 5 wins with 5 remaining games all of them are very winnable.
