On ESPN's Sportsline Radio Show, which Dave Cokin is apart of daily, Dave and Bruce Marshall (Gold Sheet) Break down the Pac-12 Conference.
Today is officially One month from the start of CFB season. Spreads are starting to show up for week 1.
Dave really like the Pac-12. It may be his favorite league to watch. The Pac-12 is loaded with some good offensive teams this year. Oregon has set the bar high for the rest of the league in terms of offense.
USC is a bit of a mystery coming in. Sarkisian will be changing the offense to more of an uptempo one, with Cody Kessler at QB. There are questions about how good a coach Sarkisian really is. Word is there are coaches around the Pac-12 that are happy with him being hired at USC.
The coaches may not be happy that Petersen is at Washington. He is a great football coach, but it may take time for results to show. Chris really know how to run a program though. The atmosphere will really change at Washington. They are breaking in a new QB and replace the loss of Sankey as well.
Dave feels that the win total line of 8.5 on Stanford is a bit low. David Shaw is a heck of a coach. They have to replace some key players but the IQ of most of the incoming is pretty high so they will pick up his systems rather quickly. Dave feels they are very underrated. Bruce agrees, but one problem he has with Shaw is that he gets too conservative at times, like he did in the Rose Bowl.
Arizona hasn't settled on a QB just yet, but who ever runs it it will be a potent attack and their defense is improved as well. Looks like a minor bowl bid for this team.
Arizona State will be good again, but they have major defensive rebuilding to do. They should get a bowl bid, but most likely wont win their half of the Pac-12 like last year.
Bruce Marshall likes UCLA to win the South Division, as long as Hundley stays healthy.
Oregon should win the North Division.
