Thanks for Your input Tony. You know the Twelve much more then I since Huskers bowed out. You are so right, and I might add one more thing. Most of My reasoning is I think OU will control the clock with the ground game, and should make enough stops and I hope they wear em down some in the 4th. Like You cant stand Mack and do respect OU.

Hook'em Horns!!!!!!
As someone who was born in Texas and grew up an hour away from OU, I have ties to both programs. I am personally a Texas fan, but have alot of respect for OU and have had some friends both work and play in the football program. A good friend of mine has worked for them as an equipment manager for the last 6 yrs, and most of his predictions have been right (he is at every practice, game, etc.) Trust me, OU is not the powerhouse they once were 5-10 yrs ago. They lack athleticism that they had in the earlier Stoops years. Another thing, Stoops has changed; He has mellowed out and is not as vocal as he once was. The fire just doesnt burn as deep for whatever reason, probably b/c he has made a ton of cash and doesnt spend any of it (he is very frugal). Brent Venables was a nice guy but the defense really fell off after Mike Stoops left for Arizona. He is back now, but it will take a few yrs for him to get the D back to a powerhouse. Landry Jones is overrated and the coaches know it. I'd take the points here......OU has been overhyped in the polls the last 2 yrs no doubt about it. Just my two cents, but everything I've just told you comes from an insider.

One thing about the Red River War...it stirs allot of emotion as this thread clearly points out. Thats why I love college football. I like capping and betting the NFL more, but I love college football...if that makes sense.
As stated in my earlier responses, this is a 3 or 4 point game one way or the other, and when that occurs I will stay with the team with 2 solid running backs (actually 3 and Johnathan Gray is a big time true frosh stud), a good QB and the better defense overall, playing in their home state with big time revenge on their mind. Lots os intangibles here point to Texas.
If you are talking about OU controlling the clock on the ground, you might want to rewatch the K State game because that is what they did to OU in Norman and Texas has a better ground attack than K State, so that arguement does not hold water in my opinion. Williams running it with authority for sure for the Sooners but Texas's rush D is no slouch.
Yes, I am not a Mack Brown fan..never have been....but it was a very good point to highlight the fact Bob Stoops is not the coach for whatever reason he was 5 years ago, and hiring his brother to run the defense was a mistake. Bill Snyder coached Bob Stoops ass off in that game.....and if Mack Brown has any brains at all, look no further than the game film from the K State to figure out a way to shut down OU.
Seems to me in that game when OU get punched in the face they folded, and that did not happen with OU teams in the past, as I stated they seem softer than previous Bob Stoops editions....Texas Tech , Baylor and a few others punched them in the gut last year and they lost those games..that never used to happen.
Again, a half unit free play here....and it will be one of the better games of the day....I will watch and enjoy with a little action on it as well....Hook em Horns!

MY RESPONSE ON THIS FREE PLAY LOSS IS IN MY SUNDAY FREE TEASER THREAD...AND I STATED...I STAND CORRECTED...
I would have bet a million dollars no team in this game hangs 63 on the other in a blowout...unreal beatdown by the Sooners...they stepped up, they were coached up and they played falt out physical football and kicked the dog shit out of Mack Brown and Texas.....the Horns were never in even in the game expect a blocked extra poinhjt...that was their highlight
HEY - MACK BROWN, YOU IDIOT....READ SLOWLY.......When OU puts Blake Bell in the game at QB in a shotgun formation inside the 5 freaking yard line, he is going to run it off the 2 gap or run a stretch play to the right side...he has been doing it for 2 fukin years,,,,how smart do you have to be to stack the line and shadow him with your linebackers?? REALLY? That's like football 101.... With your talent and that defense you let OU hang 63 on you in the Cotton Bowl in the biggest game of the year in your home state...???
Come on man......my wife was yelling "That big QB is going to run it again".....true stroy dude. My freaking wife can figure it out.........get your shit together or get out of coaching...seriously..if I was a Long Horn fan I would be flat out embarrassed.
