TEXAS + 3 1/2 (-105) Risk $2100.00 To Win $2000.00
Line at 5 Dimes
I hate to go against your play because I think SC is the better team and LSU has been overrated. Hell, I have a trip booked for Vegas Nov. 3rd to lay the wood on the tide to destroy LSU but LSU screwed that plan up last week and now the world knows what I already knew. My only hope of getting a decent bettable line is for LSU to look sharp the next few weeks and I need a scare for Bama from Mizzo or Miss St. I was planning on making the largest bet of my life on Bama if the line was 3 or less and now I suspect it could be well over a td even with a decisive LSU win over SC.
I have to agree with whoever said "I can't believe this line", it just looks too easy.
BOL to all and I'm just wishful thinking for my own greedy plan.
BTW-It is spelled Saban! Greatest coach since Bear Bryant and Gene Stallings....can I get a Roll Tide?
Toofdoc - Like Lee Courso says, "Not so fast my friend." For the last 30 years, for whatever reason, the linesmakers always have a unexplained hidden fear, in their (methods) programs for L.S.U., when it comes to making a line for a game L.S.U. is playing in. I think you will be shocked, regardless of what happens between now (today) and the day L.S.U. plays Alabama. Even if Alabama remains unbeaten, which they probably will, and by some strange act of fate, L.S.U. could have no more than 2 or 3 losses, you will see my friend, that Bama will be substantially less than a touchdown favorite over L.S.U. Its very early in the morning now, and I do not have a schedule in front of me, but if L.S.U. plays Bama at L.S.U., regardless of the records, (unless L.S.U. goes nuts and loses every game, you will get a cheaper line then you think, and your plan of wagering on Bama over L.S.U. will still be at a lower line then you expect. I'm so tired of preaching this, but no one seems to "get it" or believe it, including some of our Pregame Professional Handicappers. That is, the greatest problem that L.S.U. has is that they have no capable QB. I know most think the position is not as important as one might think, but in L.S.U.'s case it is imperative for them to have success, they need someone with more skill and ability than Mettenberg. Did Myles think he could just wait until the last hour, and find someone like Mettenberg, who was arrested for domestic violence, being constantly intoxicated in public and who was kicked off the Georgia football team, to fill the void left by Jefferson? Its absurd to even begin to believe that a big school like L.S.U. could not have recruited someone to replace Jefferson, knowing full well, they had no one in their system ready to step up and fill that void. Only a Les Myles could think that problem would simply work itself out, without any problems. Well, had he done his job and recruited a kid , like every other major power does, he would not be in the position he has put himself and his program in today. Can it get worse? Well, I think Alabama, South Carolina, and other SEC teams on L.S.U.'s schedule know that despite the GREAT defense L.S.U. has, without a QB to simply manage the game, the Tigers can't count on just a great defense to win in the SEC. I am far from being a pro handicapper, and am not a expert, but a 8th grader can see that Mettenberg can't lead L.S.U. offensively. Personally, I'd admit I made a mistake and start Rivers, (brother of Charger Philip Rivers) imediately. At least by next season, or perhaps by the end of this one, you would see marked improvement in the Tiger offense. The problem is, no one seems to believe that Mettenberg, a tall rangy pocket passer type QB, is NOT what will work at L.S.U. The few games they won, like against Towson St. etc., were games where it didn't matter and there was no need to pass the ball. So Mettenberg got lost in those victories vs. "weak sisters", but know the day of reconing has passed and Florida has exposed Mettenberg, as will South Carolina, et al. So don't worry, the line on the L.S.U. / Alabama game will be no higher than 6 or 7, probably 6. So plan your trip my friend, because as long as Mettenberg is QB, or even Rivers, L.S.U. is in for one of its worst endings in its football history. All because a coach did not do his job and recruit for the future. I wonder if Les Myles knows what a Jr. College is? Thats where many of colleges' great QB's come from. "Comon Les", get in the game! By the way, those who think this line (South Carolina/L.S.U.) is too easy, just get on a plane and fly out to Vegas, and prove it. LOL L.S.U. should NOT be ranked in the top 10, yet tonight they are favored over the # 3 tean in the country! Why? Oh thats easy....L.S.U. can't lose a night game at home! LOL
Harry im confused, I like Bama and love that your on it but then on page 5 you say you would never bet a bama game. Can you clear that up?
Nevermind, i misread it. its says under in a bama game. Im dumb.
Texas LOLOLOLOL You should have listened to johnnymo.
"Truth will set you free" MLB: striked out more often than not NBA: can pass the ball! NFL: 13th man NHL: still try to skate backward
Harry I'm confused. You can write a mini book berating coaches ,players and team's but those of us that read what you write and sometimes even follow your plays if we don't agree with you,you want us just to zip it. Sorry Harry it ain';t gonna happen. First of all I happen to take offense to all the belitting you have been saying the last few weeks about a very good friend of mines nephew that I play a lot of golf with and that's the LSU QB #8 Zach Mettenberger NOT METTENBERG. Just yesterday his uncle and I were talking about Zach and how proud his uncle is of the young man. I just listen when he talks because of the bad picture you continue to paint about this 21 year old young man. Why is ok for you to hammer someone and think nothing of it? For gee whiz golly sacks if you live a in glass house you should never throw stones. Hell you throw boulders to make a point and some of us will toss a peeble your way and you get pissed. Your telling me to knock it off well I've got a little advise for you and that is for you to knock off the hammering of Zach Mettenberger or next week when I play golf with his uncle and we start talking about his nephew I may just show him some of your post you've been saying about him and then I'll just let the chips fall where they may. It's one thing to run on a team a coach or even a player to make a point but to continue to say he's been arrested for domestic violence and is constanly intoxited I think is taking it waaaayyyy too far. Your asking Mr. Hobbs and me to back off and leave you alone. WHY,so you can continue to take cheap shots at young, defenseless college kids who have family and friends that will love and support them no matter what?.
Yes Harry you and I go way back to feuding and my feelings about you haven't changed since that very first post you made on Dec.17,2010 when you first joined Pregame. I tried as an elder statesmans to give you this little bit of advise back then and several times since and I'm going to repeat it again and maybe this time it will sink in and that is "
IT"S NOT WHAT YOU SAY BUT HOW YOU SAY IT.
If and when you learn that little bit of advise I will gladly get off your back. I wish you no ill will or hope you ever lose a bet but you come off so pompous at times that I and I know I speak for many others can't sit back and let you get by with it. As long as I'm allowed to post freely here at PG I will continue to read and speak do so when I feel you have gone over the line to try and make a point that could have been done by saying it in a less condensending way. I'm sorry if this pisses you off but how do you think Zach's parents and family feel about what you've been saying about their own flesh and blood? Think about it and be the gentleman I know you can be and just try and choose your words more wisley when talking about young kids.
God bless you Harry and God Bless the America .
newbie - FYI: I liked Texas alot. However, After hearing remarks from Marco and Steve Fezzik, on Pregame podcasts and/or "First Preview", it definitely helped me make my decision. I think both of those gentleman know what they are doing, and I'm not ashamed to say I use information and opinions they share with those who listen. I'm sure they both would tell you, no one picks all winners. BOL!
