FYI: It has been rumored that Coach Les Myles of L.S.U., who hosts Steve Spurrier and the South Carolina Gamecocks this coming Saturday night, is seriously giving young, untested QB Rivers, the little brother of Chargers QB Philip Rivers, playing time, as soon as Mettenberg indicates his play simply won't move the offense. One need not be a expert to see Mettenberg simply is not what L.S.U. needs to beat good football teams. At best, QB Mettenberg's performance vs. Florida was pathetic.
If LSU's receiver didn't fumble and they score at TD long completion there he'd be hero of game. LSU's injuries defense problem and receivers dropping balls. Florida did nothing whole game until LSU's top 2 linebackers out
SC is awesome now and LSU is over rated by most. Keep in mind perceptions prior to last week. BOL

Night game in LSU to boot. Les Miles is 51-6 in night games.
** I have never said L.S.U. did not have a great defense. However, I am saying Mettenberg might be the worst QB that started for L.S.U. in 30 years. You can't expect a defense to be on the field 75% of the time. I don't care how great of shape the defense is in, the offense must score points. I talk to a lot of people "in the know" and the decision to take Mettenberg after he got thrown off the team at Georgia, was not a popular move by Myles. Now that Mettenberg has proven, he has no ability other than a fairly strong arm, and that he can't move in and out of the pocket like any good QB can, proves he simply does not fit in the L.S.U. system. If he is not replaced he will get injured, as he simply has no experience like the kind he needs to compete in the SEC. Rivers will replace him sooner rather than later, or else Les Myles will find out just how much patience the L.S.U. fans alumni and administration has when it comes to losing. If Myles keeps playing Mettenberg, they will not beat another tough SEC team. They sure as hell will never beat South Carolina this Saturday, thats for sure! Mettenberg did not lead his team from one third downn to a first down until the third quarter. Thats pathetic. That certainly isn't the receivers fault, or any running back's. Mr. Katz you sound like a typical L.S. U. fan. If you are not, you sound like one. I hope they play Mettenberg until the end of the season. I will make a ton of money wagering aganst him when he starts, so I hope he never gets benched!
brKatz - Thats a lot of "ifs" Mr. Katz. I watched every second of that game, and if you think L.S.U. can win with Mettenberg managing their offense, we will just have to agree to disagree. If you wagered on L.S.U., that list of excuses won't get you your money back if you wagered on L.S.U. I try tto be open minded, but your statements are quite a stretch and really are a lame excuse for Mettenberg's ability and his performance. Blaming other players just won't excuse the main problem. BOL!
-JB- Thank you for your reply. You make some valid points. I appreciate it. Good luck to you!
LSU shutdown Florida whole game before 2 linebackers on one drive went down. Mettenberg positioned team be ahead and LSU receivers blew it. Florida one best defenses country and Mettenberg's second road game, but he put the team in position to win and threw no interceptions.
