Your Honor,
I am looking at the total of 53 in the Florida/Kentucky game. I am leaning towards the over as Florida is taking a step down in the competition they have faced thus far and the spread of 24 means Florida needs to score a fair amount of TD's to cover this spread. My question is can Kentucky put up enough ponts against the Florida D to get over the 53? I know it has creeped up a couple of points since the open, but still think it goes over.
Thanks for your time.
Texans -2
For years my gambling partner has drilled into my head that the Texan franchise was built with the primary goal of beating Peyton Manning's Colts. Well it's not the colts this time but it is Manning. This Denver club has not had time to build the chemistry that Manning had with his receivers at Indy and I'm sure the amount of time he was away from football affected his abilities. I am a fan but this is not the same old Manning yet the gambling public still bets on him like he is fresh from the Superbowl. I only have to point to the love fest that pregame turned into last Monday and then the "blame" that was directed at the refs even though Peyton was the one throwing the ball to the other team.
Peyton will get better with time and the public will get tired of losing on him until that happens. We might find value later in the season as those paths cross but this game holds huge value due the perception of Manning of old.
Bowling Green +17.5.......just dont see VT covering this big nbr vs experienced BG squad and they hung with FLA pretty well in week one
I have South Carolina-18(-10) and UCLA-11(-7) those r my #.
Judge Joe,
I have a couple:
Kansas St +14 at Oklahoma
This is a value play for me. Oklahoma is the premium team and will be overvalued, even though they have a QB that can be shaky at times. On the flip side we have a perennial undervalued team in K St. K St. is disciplined and I trust Snyder to shorten the game and try to get to the 4th quarter within a score. This is also the prime time Fox matchup I believe so the line is going to be slightly inflated for the Sooners.
#2 is South Carolina -10 at home vs Mizzou.
Both teams have injuries at QB so I think that is a wash. Where there is an advantage though is the USC OL and DL vs an undersized Mizzou DL and injured OL. Mizzou is playing a true freshman and i believe had their veteran center along with an NFL caliber left tackle go down. Not a good thing against a stout D. I think Mizzou can hang in the first half but just like the Georgia game (fake punt notwithstanding) Mizzou will get ground down by "old man football".
GW1968- FL/KY OVER 53
Florida offense is improving each week while KY defense is a sieve. But after huge team win not sure how motivated offense will be against this opponent. Florida may have to score all the points to put this one OVER because the Gator defense aginst Wild Cat offense is total mismatch.
VERDICT - HUNG JURY
JUDGE JOE
Toofdoc - Texans -2
Very astute observation. On Monday night, Manning looked like he had to exert much more effort to even get any zip on a midrange pass. He was a bit late on the throws and they hung just enough for defenders to make the picks. Clearly he is not back. Now he must face Houston BC Phillips who is hired by the Texans to defuse the explosive Manning while he was with Indy. That didn't happen last year but now Phillips and the top rated Texans defense gets a chance to prove their mettle. You know HC Kubiac will be pumped as he returns to his former stomping ground to do battle against his good friend John Elway who is now in charge of the Denver football fortunes. Only the Broncos defense, which has suddenly gotten sneaky good keeps this one close.
VERDICT - AGREE
Deliveryman3 - Bowling Green
Here is where the JUDGE can save you some money. No shame in just 14 points at Florida. But the lack of the Falcons offensive production against the defensive sieves of Idaho and Toledo leaves great cause for concern. No where will it be more apparent than Saturday in Blacksburg where an embarrassed experienced Hokie defense looked right past the Pitt Panther. Plenty for the Hokie offense to prove as well and the difference in class will show throughout the whole game. We're laying almost 10 points less than opening week because of the Hokies luke warm beginning to 2012. Don't fall for the experienced Big Dog trick. They are at the wrong place on the wrong week.
VERDICT - DISAGREE
MOBIG - South Carolina
The JUDGE only responds to written argument.
VERDICT - OUT OF ORDER Not sure what you are asking
