Notre Damee has no defense
That's a joke. Stanford has been considered one of the best power running offenses in the country for years, and Notre Dame held Stanford to 47 yards rushing - something that has not happened since pre-Harbaugh. Going into the UNC game, ND was 3rd in the country in scoring defense at 12 points per game. UNC got 21 points off of turnovers - half the points they scored in that game and it was a bad spot for ND, between Stanford and FSU. UNC's strength against ND was not a dual threat QB - Syracuse and Michigan both had dual threat QBs - it was the fast pace combined with TOs, which gave UNC many extra plays on offense, which gassed the ND defense.
Winston and FSU had the same game against NCSt. - Winston turned the ball over 3 teams leading to 17 points and a close game against an inferior team, where NCSt scored 41 points.
Notre Dame and FSU had a common opponent in Syracuse. FSU won by 18 points and ND won by 16 points, despite ND being -4 in turnovers that game.
Sagarin ratings have FSU as being 1 point stronger than ND, which means the line should be FSU by about 4 or 5 depending upon the value you assign to home field. FSU being favored by double digits is a joke. The same thing occurred in the ND-OK game in 2012. By Sagarin the line should have been 6, but opened at 9 and ran up to 12. ND dominated OK and won easily.
ND has a stellar D-Line, one of the best LBs in the country and the best safety out of CA, along with 2 excellent CBs. ND can win this game, let alone cover. Golson has only lost one CFB game - that was to Bama in the NC game when he was a freshman.
