Good morning Pregame! Ended up 5-4 last night, up 3.38 units on my premium plays. So, so close to a huge night. Onward and upward, and today is looking like a huge day for favorites. I am firing two 3* plays on favorites tonight (my highest rating), so come check out the website. Last night ended up being more of an underdog night, so the turnaround to the favorites makes sense to me. We have some strong pitchers going for strong teams tonight. This is the time of the year that the contenders establish themselves and separate themselves from the pack. I'll start off the day with the following free play:
Pittsburgh/San Francisco Under 7.5 You have two pitchers having solid seasons (though Charlie Morton's record doesn't indicate it) and you have one offense that is in a colossal funk. Plus, I am buying Tim Lincecum at home. The man has been solid at home, although he did get rocked hard by the Dodgers his last time out at AT&T and he will be looking to bounce back. Meanwhile, Charlie Morton has been a hard luck pitcher. He has dropped a few bombs himself this year, but in each of the last 3 times he gave up 4 or more runs in a start he came back and gave up 2 runs or less in each of his next starts. With this SF offense in a huge funk, I think he bounces back big tonight as well. I see a very low scoring game here tonight, possibly a 3-2 type game. Play the Under
Leans
New York Yankees ML (-140) at Texas
New York Mets ML (-145) at Philadelphia
Be careful with both of these as these are rather steep lines. But this looks like a favorites kind of day, so let's line up on the right side!
Also for those who are interested, I will be on The Sports Shelf talk show tonight around 7pm and I will be talking football, primarily giving listeners my AFC preview. Go check it out at www.wbad.net/sportstalk. I'll be on with Nick & Emory.
