Arizona Diamondbacks @ Cincinnati Reds-130
7:10 PM ET, July 28, 2014
Great American Ball Park, Cincinnati, Ohio
Since the allstar break, The Reds have lost 8 out of 9 and are a combined 50 for 281 batting .178. Reds Starter, Homer Bailey is dominant at home (5-1 with a 2.79 ERA L7). However, I think homer will have to be even better than this if Cincinnati expects to come away with a win. Since the all-star break The Reds have averaged 1.8 runs per game while losing 7 in a row, finally snapping that losing streak in a 1-0 win behind Johnny Cueto.
I think the effects of losing key players Phillips & Votto are being magnified now that the key players who are in the lineup are all struggling: Hamilton 6-for-34 (.176) , Mesoraco 4-for-22 (.182) Todd Frazier 6-for-33 (.182) since the all-star break. To add to these woes, there are alot of questions that need to be answered before the July 31st trade deadline.
The brass doesn't know whether to buy or sell GM Walt Jocketty is being pressured by baseball operations to sell off players and rebuild for next season. Jocketty, in the final year of his contract, sees it different considering one of the two wild card spots, if he could find a player that can play multiple positions "[t]hat would be better, because eventually we're going to get Joey and Brandon back, so you don't want to limit yourself if you can."
Still, there is alot of uncertainty as to what is really going to happen within the next few days. This uncertainty cant be good for a team that is already struggling, i mean last month they were talking about winning a division, now their talking about selling and rebuilding for 2015?!?!? Too much drama going on with this team and none of its good. I will take my chances with Chase Anderson (6-4) and the less pressured dog here. D'Backs+120 is my pick Best all,
ZIGGYBEATS!
