May Two-Four.....doesn't have the same appeal it once did for me. This may be an abbreviated version based on time-constraints....we'll see?
For the final time I will point out that the Pirates are the very best hitting team under the lights and the very worst under the sun. Judge yourself accordingly....by near a full .100 points (OB%)
I didn't have time to offer much yesterday, but hope that some took notice and at least stayed off the Marlins, Nationals and A's/Over. Oakland's bats have taken a brief hiatus and I'm not sure Dickey is the answer.
Toronto Blue Jays (+105) ~ While the LHBs in Oakland's line-up does not make a significant difference facing RA (he fares 40 points better allowing only a .213 BAA), it has a large effect with Chavez (conceding an 80 point higher BAA at .254).
Donaldson vs Bautista - most total bases
**Jose Bautista (+105) ~ Nope, don't care that Donaldson went 3 for 4 facing Dickey last time. Joey Bats goes yard today at a great price. Can't pitch around him. That may actually happen to Donaldson to face a LHB, though.
Los Angeles Dodgers/Philadelphia Phillies Over 8½ (-110) Fell short a run short, but the Kemp PH appearance cashes the Utley prop ~ Two of the top-hitting matinee teams. Can easily see this at 4's at some point. This was going to be a double-play, but I'll back off knowing nothing about Buchanan. Haren's best work is usually reserved for night games. This is either cheese or a disaster, so be careful. I hate being on the heavily-loaded side and after watching the Phils' miscues at Miami, I am very leery of them. I do have a feeling that this may not be for the faint of heart?
Kemp vs Utley - most total bases
Chase Utley (-120) ~ Actually prefer a Marlon Byrd H2H, but not seeing one.
New York Yankees (-105) ~ Both teams hit well under the sun. The kicker here is that the Bombers also hit LHP. Abreu's absence makes a difference here. Should see runs, but at 9.5 I'll pass.
**Cleveland Indians (-110) ~ Speaking of teams that struggle in the day-time, the Orioles have had a tough time getting their footing. I never back a team that has a .301 or < OB% in a given situation. Very cliche, but never expect the unexpected. We all know that it happens frequently, but never bank on it.
Price has been very ineffective this season pitching at the Trop. I'd look at Boston or nothing, but seeing lopsided numbers on the Sox, I think this one is best to let slide. Not sure that Boston is solid enough to back and backing TB to win three straight gives me heartburn. Save yourself the Tums
Colorado Rockies (+141) ~ I may be way off here and it will not be a surprise, but I am getting the #1 hitting team in day games (.350) and facing LHP (.356) vs one of the poorest hitting teams in the sunlight (.269)? I'll take it....the Rox road numbers concern me, so tread carefully here. I am not. Do be careful on the Over here, though.
Colorado Rockies (+130) Mini ~ Tulowitzki is now 1-9 off Minor, but yup....you got it.
**Arizona Diamondbacks/New York Mets Over 7 (-125) ~ Neither of these teams can bang worth a shit in day games, but neither of these pitchers merit this total.
That's it for the early stuff. See if there's any time a bit later.....BB
If you get still get KC/LAA Under 7.5 I'd take it, but let it slide at 7 although I still think it may be a winner. We know that backing the Cards against a LHP simply isn't going to happen although I haven't found enough reason to back the Reds here......yet. Both teams stink vs lefties (Reds actually worse), so the Cards/Reds Under 7 (-115) may be the best look here, although I don't have a great deal of faith in either starter going deep. The only edge, however slight, is that the Reds have shown a tad more pop vs southpaws and in what is likely a low-scoring affair it may just be enough? No chance of fading a good lefty in Keuchel visiting the Mariners. We'll see what value there is to be had here? Don't forget the Pittsburgh Pirates (-105). The secret is out; hold the Nats to fewer than 4 runs and you win. I think Cole does.
Wrapping it up with a Red-Flag Alert on the SF Giants
Here's the matinee parlay at 20/1. Just add ice;
Cleveland Indians (-112)
Toronto Blue Jays (+100)
New York Yankees (-112)
Colorado Rockies +1½ (-165)
Philadelphia Phillies Over 3½ (-125)
Just one on the ice to see if the momentum carries over;
Los Angeles Kings -½ (+180) 1st Period ~ I guess not.....
