Hiroki Kuroda faces Erik Bedard tonight as the Yankees face the Rays in Game 2 of their 4 Game Series. Kuroda has pitched very well in 2014 but he does have a history of struggling when facing Tampa Bay. He is 2-3 with a 7.36 career ERA vs. the Rays in 5 starts with a 1.53 WHIP. Kuroda faced the Rays twice in 2013 and gave up 12ER in just 11.2 IP.
Erik Bedard gets the nod for the Rays who will be looking to get their get back to winnings ways having lost 4 straight games. The main reason why Bedard wasn’t on Tampa’s opening day roster was because of his location issues. I expect the Yankees to make Bedard work tonight by being patent and drawing several walks.
I like the Yankees to score runs on Bedard tonight, they have had 28 Hits in their last 2 games, both against left handed starters (Wood & Price). I am also expecting the Rays to have success against Kuroda which should see the Over 7 in this game be the value play.
New York Yankees / Tampa Bay Rays Over 7 Runs
