Re-posted from yesterday's thread, so a couple have not been made official yet. Bear with me......
Not official yet as I have no line posted, but I expect to play the Baltimore Orioles (-110) Mini.......upgraded due to pitching change.
Pittsburgh Pirates (+120) ~ List Pitchers Liriano/Cueto ~ I do believe that the Reds' pounding of a lefty last night was an aberration and not the norm. I fully expect that the Bucs will be playing for the sweep. Although Cueto's been good (suffers from a lack of run support), Liriano seemed to get it together in his last outing although he did not fare well. Not sure that the Reds' will have anyone in the bullpen ready for a 12:30 start? Do note that Cueto is an amazing 19-4 in day games over the last 3 seasons, though. If the offense didn't exhaust last night, it should tonight, so the Under 7 (-105) is looking attractive for tomorrow's matinee. Both these starters should (may have to) go very deep.
Under 3½ (-110) Mini ~ The wind should help keep the ball IN the park today. IF I were going to look to the Reds today it would be on the 5 inning line only.
**Atlanta Braves/Philadelphia Phillies Over 3½ (-120) Mini ~ PPD....may or may not set up again today?
Going to pass here. With the wind blowing in, it may take King Kong (or Dan Uggla) to take it out today.....the Bravos have annihilated LH pitching, but have never fared well against Lee. He has not looked right early, though?
**Oakland A's/LA Angels Under 8½ (-110) List Milone/Skaggs ~ Dreadful is too weak a word to describe these teams' futility vs southpaws thus far. Oakland's OBP is .255 with a miserable .165 BA while the Halos are not much better with a .293 OBP. Taking the lesser of two evils, the Angels will probably be the side. Oh, yeah......their bullpen?
Miami Marlins (-136) ~ No chance of fading young Fernandez at home, but the line may get away? After a "poor" start last outing, I expect he'll be back on the beam here. Fish Sticks anxious to wipe the taste of an 0-6 road trip out of their mouths.
In a game that is likely postponed, I'll go with the Blue Jays' (-127) PPD bats despite Dickey. They showed last night that they can hit in the cold....the Twins didn't. Not putting much thought into this one, so be warned.
Not sure (if) we can find any value in New York Yankees Game 1, but I do expect Tanaka goes to 2-0. Hammel has looked very sharp, but NYY know him well. Perhaps a mini? We'll see? I am seeing -125, but not at my 'books. I cannot believe it, but if it is so....it'll be New York on the 9 inning line. I'll expect the night-cap to be another low-scoring tilt and will consider the Under 8-8.5.
Chicago Cubs GM1/New York Yankees GM1 (List Hammel/Tanaka)
Under 4 (+100) Mini
Chicago Cubs GM2/NY Yankees GM2
Under 8 (-125) List Wood/Pineda
A bit surprised by the generous price, but riding those big, bad Cards (+107) one more time. Until I see consistent hitting by the Brewers, I'll be making money on the other side. To be sure, Kelly will want to follow-up his stablemates' fine performances. As much as I like Wee Wily, he cannot do it alone.
IF, and only if I see the Indians >+130 will I bite. Yesterday's thread has my full reasoning. I'll move it here, time permitting. Going to pass on the total today, though. Cleveland Indians (+141) ~ Note that this is a Pregame line and I do not have it yet. List McAllister/Sanchez.
Despite an awesome pitching match-up and a significant wind blowing in I cannot, will not back an Under 7 at Arlington. Nope, I just can't do it. Worth the price of admission just to watch the Ks pile up. I think 25 is within reach? I won't be able to live with myself watching it go final at 1-0, so if the Under 3-3.5 mini is reasonable, then maybe? Power edge to the M's, but expecting that the ball won't leave the yard it'd be Rangers (-115) or nothing.
Total Strikeouts By Yu Darvish
**Over 7½ (-121) ~ Pricey but with a wind-assist he should hit double-digits....easily. Should be nasty. M's whiffing roughly once every 3.8 ABs vs RHP. Felix's strikeout numbers have been huge (1.4 PIP and set at only 6), but at -140 or so.....gonna let this one slide. The Rangers have been fairly disciplined striking out once every 5.2 ABs vs RHP.
Chicago White Sox (+128) ~ Don't let the "Buchholz" name fool you. This Chicago line-up is one of the most talented that you've (n)ever heard of. If he comes out throwing BP again, these kids should be all over him. I wanted the Over 8 (+100) but with the wind projected to be howling in.....I'll pass.
Southpaws have given the Royals fits to the tune of a .196 team BA with ZERO HRs, so be careful.......Under 8.5 (-110) looks quite attractive, but taking the Houston bullpen out of the equation and playing the Under 4.5 (-115) Mini is wiser. As much as I'd like to back the Rockets here, I just don't trust that 'pen......LOL The value has been sapped, but it's them or nothing.
Today's parlay at 15/1. May very well be reduced;
Montreal Canadiens/Tampa Bay Lightning Under 5 (-110)
Miami Marlins (-143)
Colorado Rockies Over 3 (-110)
Cleveland Indians +1½ (-170)
Houston Astros +1½ (-155)
