There are alot of great posters in this forum just hoping I can add my idiosyncratic view to an already awesome MLB forum now that I have buffered the blow so to speak, lets get to it!
Dodgers @ Giants At&T Park
Josh Beckett 0-0 9.0 ERA vs Tim Lincecum 0-1 9.9 ERA The over is 5-1 this season at AT&T where teams are averaging 8.7 RPG combined, this includes the outlier, 0-1 game on Saturday. Henry Schulman (MLBN) theorized that the tunnel under the new organic edible garden built near right felid, has opened a new pocket for air to swirl around which has caused a recent surge in power for hitters at AT&T, in what has recently been seen as a pitchers park. Seems like an interesting theory, considering how the Giants are 2nd in runs 66 behind Colo and 1st in HR's 17. However, in 7 games on the road, the over is 6-1 where the Giants are averaging 5.7 RPG. Wherever this recent surge is coming from This may not fair well for Beckett who is still trying to shake off the rust or Lincicum who has been struggling in his first 3 starts. With that said, I see both of Beckett and Lincicum pithing better tonight as both of these ERA's are obviously inflated due to the afore mentioned rust of Beckett and especially in the case of Lincicum who has been roughed up single handedly by Paul Goldshmidt. In two games vs Az this season Paul Goldshmidt has 2 Hr and 6 RBI in 3 AB vs Lincecum, which have definitely skewed his numbers. Vs The Dodgers, Lincecum is 9-6 With a 2.94 Era. In addition, In Lincecums last 11 starts, the Dodgers are averaging just 2.4 RPG. However, to be more precise, Current Dodger hitters are batting .256 in 157 AB vs Lincecum. And those same dodgers hitters are batting 255 as a team this season. In a small ss Current giant hitters are batting .269 In 49 AB vs Beckett. Although it is Jackie Robinson day today I give no emotional edge to either team as Jackie Robinson means more to the game of Baseball as opposed to a select team. I do give the edge to Lincicum, not only because his past performance vs LA but because of LA's recent struggles in Frisco; 3-7 L10, also because we can pinpoint the inflated era. With Beckett, there are still some questions and we just don't know how long it will be before he can return to form. Although I look for a better performance from Him as well, I have to side with the home team here. The GIANTS-110 to get the win here with a small lean to the over which has moved from 7.5 to 8 should be right around this number tonight BOL ladies and Gents
