3-1 yeasterday. Hitting with the Mets, Rays, Col / Chw over, and losing with Marlins. I will have my plays updated later today. No early plays.
Now 10-3 +727 and the thousand dollar bettor is nearing 10k soon, i hope!!
I am back from my weekend away from my office. Got some good rest and watched as my Uconn future ticket at 22 - 1 odds finally came through. Had to wait almost a couple weeks on that one. But what a great future WIN!!
My last post had 2 games picked for the past Friday. With the Royals and Pirates both victorious that now puts our YTD record at 7-2 with a plus+ 507 units bet. The thousand dollar bettor is up over 5 grand. So lets keep it going. Remeber, we like to stay away from the big juiced up lines, as one of those losses takes a lot of catching up to do. However here and there we will sprinkle a bit if we feel confident enough to lay.
Today I have 2 games picked.
Miam Marlins @ Washington Nationals (Alvarez 0-1 vs Gonzalez 1-0)
Tampa Bay Rays @ Kansas City Royals (Archer 1-0 vs Ventura 0-0)
Game 1: Marlins @ Nats
The earlier of the 2 games picked for me today with Miami traveling north to Washington. Marlins coming in at big underdog money (+170-pregame) to face off against the public favortire Gio Gonzalez. I could recall a game like this a few years back, where I would walk into my book and play the Nats here. You got the better pitcher going against a guy who who isnt that proven with only a short amount of career games. So you lay the big juice to win a unit or so. And those are the ones I remember kicking me in the butt. Wondering how in the hell this happens time after time. Well, like I say we take from what can learn from our losses and go on. Meaning I will take a un popular pick with the Marlins, thier pitcher who hasnt had a win vs the Nats yet in his short career, and a team that was predicted to be one of the worst this year. However the Marlins are now on peoples radar at 5-2 and the ballclub hitting a very nice .294 average so far. It took the Marlins 24 games last year to reach thier first 5 wins, and they are looking for number 6 with only thier 8th game today. Giocarlo Stanton looks like a guy everyone knew he was, and could really make a mark this year in the NL. He leads the NL with 12 RBI's along with his teammates Casey Mcgehee batting .375 with 10 RBI's of his own, and Adeiny Hechavarria batting .393. Henderson Alverez is only 0-2 with a 4.43 ERA vs. the Nats, and can simply turn that around today witha nice bounce back outing. I think Gio Gonzelez is the one to faulter today, who shows to be one of the better pitcher in the NL. However the Nationals are a bit depleted today compared to what Miami can throw there way today. Zimmerman is day to day, Hariston is on the 15 day, along with a few others. With the public all over the Nationals today at 82% on the ML, I will take the Marlins as my fade the fav public joe pick today. The way I love to play!
Pick: Miami Marlins +170 to win 1 unit.
Game 2: Rays @ Royals
KC is throwing out Yordano Ventura today. A pitcher who only has 3 career games under his belt, missed his last start due to a rain delay last week, and has been on his heels (i bet) waiting to play. He did throw simulation innings Sunday, as KC wants him warmed up and not in a suspended anxious state, waiting for todays game. However I feel he will be blown away today or atleast not the better of the two. He faces Chris Archer today of the TB Rays, who looks to be a bright outlook for TB's rotation. The Rays signed him to an extension recently as they believe in him to be a up and comer in the big leagues. He has 28 games started with 2 complete games in his career (which is so much experience compared to Ventura) and looks to add another win to his record for 2014. He had 6 solid innings pitched vs Toronto on 4/3/14 and came out with the Win. He did allow 2 earned runs, however both coming in the 4th inning with all other aspects of his game looking great! With a small price, (IMO) the better overall team, and facing a pitcher who could get shelled today, I will put the small juice on TB.
Pick: Tampa Bay Rays -114 to win 1 unit
If I have any other games to play today, I will update to this posted thread in forums or you can simply navigate over to my page and view my picks. I am looking to build a good MLB year for 2014 as my previous plays were always from the hip for fun. So this year I am putting all I can in so you can feel confident to follow.
*Update Added play on Bartolo Colon and the NY Mets today +120 over the ATL Braves-Game did start after this edit, however I did post the updated play in the reply section of this thread well before the game started.*
