I cranked up the new smoker again and made some kick-ass Wings yesterday and along with some Fresh Purple Hull Peas and Mrs Shaker's Cornbread we had some good eatin' around the Shaker house yesterday evening. Since I'm on a Roll, I am making Ribs today. Boo Yaa! That is, if the weather holds off. Gee, let's hope so. Forum Play winner yesterday on the LA Dodgers and 6 straight Forum Winners now. I guess I should put that in the Header right? Nah. Handicapping the Monday Card right now and will be back to put up another Forum Play later..

MLB Play for Monday coming soon..

I do have a 3* MLB Play for this evening + more at Http://GregShaker.com

Potential Rain games today include Washington, Mets, KC as the top 3. Most likely ROOF Open in Toronto tonight..

I would be very wary of the usual  "Fade the Pitcher" after a No Hitter with Lincecum. 9 Days of Rest for one, and it' not like he is not used to the attention one gets after throwing a No Hitter.

Greg, in "rain games" does that mean you usually play the UNDER in these scenarios? how does weather affect your handicapping? toward OVER or UNDER?

Here ya go..

901 PIT   (+129) 5Dimes vs 902 WAS Free pick
Analysis: Exactly how is David Haren a favorite tonight over one of the Best Teams in the National League? The Nats have won just 4 times in his 14 starts including most recently 1-10 when he takes the Hill. The Nationals have won just once in their last 7 efforts and offense is clearly the biggest reason why, as they are scoring about 2.3 RPG Over their last 10 played. The Pirates give the ball to Charlie Morton tonight and he has been a big surprise for them. I frankly think he has some imploding to do before it's all over this year but most likely he will have success tonight throwing at the Nats Bats. The Pitt Bullpen remains very solid with an ERA near 1 Over their last 10 games. The Pirates have not been afraid of the road this year either. High humidity tonight means that Fly Balls might go further than usual and Haren is one that throws a lot of those. Morton is just the OPPOSITE with a very high ground ball rate this year. Sometimes I just don't get it with what these Oddsmakers are doing and this one is that. I'm going to play the Bucs & at a very nice number..

Actually Rain game affect the OVER more than the Under especially when we have some good throwers to start the game. Often they are forced to  leave early during a delay and Mop Up guys get their chance. In addition footing for outfielders are sometimes iffy and at best the outfield is slower which means Fly Balls/Line drives are more likely to fall safely..
