Matty's FPBE MLB Play O' the Day + Total Play O' the Month = WINNERS

Well, we lost consecutive FreePicksByEmail selections earlier in the week following an 11-1 run but have gone 3-0 since then after the Red Sox beat the Yankees on Thursday. On the 4th of July, we're going back to the well for one of my favorite plays over the last couple seasons - backing Boston ace Josh Beckett on the runline (+125 at BetUS). The reasoning behind this is quite simple: In the last 35 wins for the Red Sox with Beckett on the mound dating back to 2006, 32 have been decided by 2 runs or more (91%). Let's just say I like those odds Big Smile

I'll be looking to cash this one along with my 4th of July Spectacular at Pregame Pros (4-0 last year) Yes

Red Sox (-130, O/U 9.5): Boston ace Josh Beckett is looking to rebound from a tough stretch in which he has earned just one win in four starts despite pitching fairly well. Beckett has allowed just two runs in each of his last two starts but has gone 0-1 because his teammates have backed him with just three runs. Run support has not been a problem for him against the Yankees lately though, as the Sox have scored 21 runs in his last three starts vs. New York. That has helped Beckett go 6-3 lifetime against them despite an inflated 5.87 ERA.

PROJECTED SCORE: 6 (Side Play of the Day)

Yankees: Darrell Rasner has suffered losses in six of his last seven trips to the mound, but he has earned three of his four wins at home. He is 3-1 in four starts at Yankee Stadium and has pitched there just twice in his last seven outings, splitting a pair of decisions after allowing four runs in 13 innings with five walks and eight strikeouts. Rasner has never pitched against the Red Sox.
