The Brew Crew who have won 22 of their last 28 games will try to continue their climb up the Wild Card standings in Thursday's finale. The Pirates who are fading fast having lost nine of their last twelve games!
Admittedly, Wandy Rodriguez since coming over from Houston has been solid and is 3-0, 2.10 in his last four starts. So the question is can the Pitt O muster enough runs to overcome the Brewers hot streak and stop the bleeding?
Who wins the finale at 3:05 CST?
Luck is for the unprepared
As a die-hard Pirates fan, I really want to believe they can...the Pirates still have a SOLID playoff shot. Before anyone says that's absurd based on this collapse. I truly believe if the Pirates are within can stay withing 3 games (after this game, astros series, and mets series) heading into the Reds and Braves series, that those teams will "falter" a bit in those last 2 series'. Both of those teams would rather face the Pirates in the postseason than the Cards, Dodgers, or streaking Brewers. I wouldn't be shocked if they rolled over and let the Bucs take at least 4 or 5 if they're in the hunt. That means the Pirates are probably gonna have to take at least 5 of 8. As a gambling man I think this would be my final straw for the Pirates, this is a must win with the Cardinals facing Astros, Cubs, then Astros. I see a win today to keep at least .500 hopes alive for another week.
