What are you talking about? Why can't someone pick favorites if they think the teams are going to win? I went 5-2 a couple days ago picking only favorites. I went 5-0 yesterday picking only favorites. YOU ARE WRONG BRO.

to each is own, is what i say. parlays, big faves, big underdogs, high volume player, low volume player, hedging/trying to work a middle, whatever...at the end of the day it's about making a long term profit. personally, i'm a HUGE fan of the in-progress plays...you can get TREMENDOUS value on in-progress lines IMO. (as i type this i'm going to be eyeing that 2nd half line on the pirates/phills game...possible value with taking the under on that one.)
cegiovannetti, you should post units won as well as your overall record, as units won is the more telling story. if you have a positive overall record AND are on the plus side in units won, then it'd be hard for people to argue against your methodology. just saying.

actually, what i meant by posting units is this. i realize both the yankees & white sox won today, but let's say they lost and the rest of your plays won. let's also assume that you're a 1 unit player, and that either:
A: you'll risk whatever amount at x odds to win $100 (e.g., at -190 odds, you'd risk $190 to win $100).
B: you'll risk only $100 max (e.g., at -190 odds you'd still risk only $100, and at +130 odds you'd risk $100 to win $130).
so even with a 3-2 "winning" day, under scenario A you'd be down $63 (i.e., -0.63 unit), and in scenario B you'd be up ~ $31.47 (i.e., +0.31 unit). and i think it's the units factored in with the odds that people are interested in seeing.
