Good bounce back day on Monday, going 4-1 and up 3.13 units for the day. Coming back with several more plays today.
OAK F5 ML I have not seen the line on the first five yet, probably somewhere around +145. Sonny Gray has been pitching well lately and I’m willing to ride him versus Tervor Bauer and the Indians for 5 innings. Like many starters these days, Gray is not much more than a 6-inning pitcher, and the Indians have a big bullpen advantage, so I want to eliminate that with the first five play. Neither team is all that high powered offensively, although Cleveland does have a stronger lineup. But against Bauer, who hasn’t fooled anyone lately, I’m going with Oakland to get to him.
Cardinals ML +102 Yesterday’s write-up on the LA/STL match-up dogged on St Louis and today I’m betting on them? Yep. My primary arguments for betting LA yesterday have been reversed today. First, the “reversal of fortune” angle. Yesterday, it was Rich Hill who was coming off the poor performance last against St Louis. Tonight, it’s Michael Wacha who is coming off the poor performance last week versus LA and I expect to see him bounce back with a much sharper performance. Wacha has historically pitched well in Busch Stadium, and his career numbers are better there historically, especially this year. Second, LA will not be sending a left handed pitcher to the mound tonight. Finally, the "first game back from the road trip" angle turns to the Cards advantage tonight. The Cardinals still aren’t hitting much, but LA sends out Kenta Maeda (4-2, 5.08) who is hittable and presents the Cards with a chance to break out of their slump.
Twins ML -120
Rangers ML +107
Also looking at a Cubs play, and a couple interesting plays to me are Kansas City and the Angels.
Good luck to everyone today!
