Pool do you have any thoughts on fading the cards after their double header yesterday
I feel they are one of the most under performing teams in baseball so far. The only solid part of their game so far has been starting pitching except for Martinez and Wainwright. I believe Martinez has started to turn the corner and I'm not worried about him at all. They should be a much better offensive team than they have shown so far and I believe they will be. It's just a matter of when. In their last 7 games they have scored 4 or more runs each game so the turn around may have already started. The bullpen was one of the worst I've ever seen to start the year but have started to finally come around lately. They're not where they want to be but they've been decent the last several games over all. The defense and base running is still pretty bad but the up tick in offense has covered up their mistakes the last few games.
As for fading them after a double header, I just don't believe in doing that unless I have other reasons for liking the other side. This is a three game series where the Cards are starting Lynn 2-1 2.70era, Leake 3-1 1.32era, Wacha 2-1 2.55era. Cinn. is starting Adleman 0-0 2.70era, Arroyo 2-2 6.86era, and Garrett 2-2 5.09era. I like the Cardinals in each one of those pitching match ups. The Cardinals used a lot of their bench players and changed up the starting line ups from the first to second game. These are pros and no one should be worn out or tired. If the Cardinal offense stays as hot as they've been the last 7 games I like them in each match up. I'll probable have a play on them tonight.
