I literally cringed today when I saw one of the moments in history. It was on this date the without question one of the all time worst renditions of our national anthem was butchered. It was 1990 and Roseanne Barr screamed the anthem prior to a Padres game in San Diego. She was roundly booed by the Padres home crowd and apparently there was blow back extending as far away as the famous San Diego Zoo where various animals were reportedly running for cover and the apes were scrambling around covering their ears. No, she was not invited back to do it again.
Okay, a free release for tonight. Not always a great idea to jump on a team first night back after an extended road journey but I will make an exception and suggest a small play on the Rangers tonight as they return to Arlington. Make no mistake about it, the Rangers are a different animal on their home turf. I also suspect they are working the phones hard trying to make a deal. It's no secret the Rangers need some pitching help, not uncommon, and in the pen to be specific. They would give about anything to see Miller or Chapman wearing a Rangers uniform. Problem is of course the other GM's know this full and well. The fact is the Rangers have won a stellar nine of their last eleven games at home with Perez on the bump against a losing club. Oakland has been playing better but give me the Rangers here tonight.
On the business side I have my Major league July Triple Star Game of the Month going tonight. I try hard to be meticulous with these kinds of labels. I've won 5 of the last 6 games carrying a gow or gom month label. Over the course of the season we've cashed in on just under 70% of them. There was one game on the board tonight and earned the tag in my view. I also have my College Football Triple Star Kick Off release loaded. It's my opinion the best number is available now.
Thanks and best of luck this week guys.
