Thank you for all the ideas for future MLB articles. The one I'm using today and WILL MAKE A NORMAL FEATURE EACH MONDAY is the MLB records the last 2 weeks.
I have 4 charts below. The first three are the records for each team over the past 14 days (since Sunday, June 12th) listed by their overall record and profit, the second is their Run Line record and profit while the 3rd is their Over/Under record. The fourth chart is the same information combined into a quick reference sheet sorted alphabetically by team nickname. All the profits listed are based on a $100 wager.

I think most MLB fans are not surprised by the top three teams in this list but how many would have guessed that Atlanta is the FOURTH most profitable team the last 2 weeks. In fact they are only $2 below the Indians (who they play tonight) despite being +2 wins (8-6) compared to Cleveland at +7 wins (10-3).
The two NY teams are 6-6 and 6-7 the past two weeks but the Yankees at .500 are still -$250 while the Mets at one game under .500 are -$581

New ground has been broken as we see a one win record for the first time since starting these charts. The Rays are 1-13 on the Run Line down 16.1 units (-$1610). The Red Sox who are 5-9 on the Money Line were only 2-12 on the Run Line so they obviously had 3 one-run wins in the last 2 weeks. Be VERY cautions if your planning to back the LA Dodgers on the Run Line. LA was 8-6 on the money line (yet was still -$55) BUT they were 4-10 on the Run Line costing their backers 7.4 units (-$744).

The first this that jumps out at me is the average line discrepancy. The highest average Over/Under line goes to the Rockies at 10.3 over the last two weeks almost a run higher then the Red Sox. On the flip side only one teams average O/U the last 2 weeks was below 7 1/2 and that was the Mets at 7.4. What else is interesting is that Colorado went 8-5 O/U with the highest average and the Mets went 5-8 O/U with the lowest average.
Having managed Phil Steele Publications and Northcoast Sports for over 15 years my main focus was naturally on football. As most of you know my College Basketball passion is not to be outdone. With that said Baseball is a sports I've never been able to give my full attention to and those times are changing.
