I thought I'd try something different, rather than just ramble on today. As bettors we're always looking for value or things that the market/books may not have totally factored in that give us that little edge or tipping point, as I refer to often.
In the game between the Twins and Mariners tonight, people will instinctively go to the fact that Phil Hughes is great at home in the big park, AND that the Twins are just a freak-show against left handed pitching. Add that to the shutout Hughes just tossed against his former team. All true, but the Twins have been beaten by the last three left handed pitchers in the last two weeks (Liriano, CJ Wilson, and Drew Pomeranz). Indeed, at home they're 32-20 this season, but have now lost four straight in Minnesota (and eight of the last ten). Trevor Plouffe is on paternity leave and their bullpen has an ERA of 5.89 over the last week. And they open at -145 to a team that has a better record on the road than at home - and Seattle already beat Hughes earlier this season.
They're not usually that easy - nor is winning at football, but we'll give it a shot and our Long Term package is available through today and then I do believe it either comes down or goes up.
