I was just looking at the Seattle/SD game. Here is a few things I took notice to.
Shields will be facing a few guys in the Seattle line-up that hit him pretty well. Cano 35/87(.402) 4HRs, Jackson 12/35(.343), Morrison 6/19(.316) 1HR, Seager 5/13(.385) 2HRs and Gutierrez 9/25(.360 1HR), not sure if he'll be starting but I would have him in there. Last regular season Shields pitched 227innings and only walked 44 batters. Already this year he walked 31 in 97.2 innings of work. I don't know what it is, but something is wrong.
Now let's take a look at Walker. He really pitched well this past month(June), 4-1, 2.36era, 3bb & 36Ks. For a guy that had some stuggles on the road in the beginning of the season, he really turned things around in his last few road starts. L3 road starts: 3-0, 20in, 22h, 3r, 2bb & 18Ks.
Is Shields capable of turning things around? Yes. Will it be today? I sure hope not. Can Walker keep pitching well or will he regress? I'm really not sure. All I can say is, I like my chances with Seattle in this game.
Mariners** +107
D'Backs +124
Mets +110
I may add a few more games later.
Good Luck Guys!!!
