Jeremy Guthrie will not forget Memorial Day after he allowed 11 ERs on 9 hits, including 4 HRs in just 1 inning of work. That's the 2nd time since 1914 that a starter has allowed 11 ERs in less than 2 full innings. Overall it is just the 44th time in MLB history that a starter has had a -11. Scott and Steve were both on the Royals yesterday so he is smarting from that play.
Scott is still impressed with how well the Giants have done in the bay area this year, while Dave states that this may be a good time to by on Clay Buchholz vs the Twins, who may start regressing.
Jon Lester could be a starter to fade moving forward. He is useless at the plate and just doesn't throw to first, which has hurt him as far as stolen bases go. The guys feel that teams may start to bunt towards him as throwing to first is a big weakness of his.
Dave feels he is not a good fit for Wrigley field and notes that in Fenway teams didnt run as much, so he didn't have to worry about teams running on him.
