I should say that the fun part of this for me is the studying and the research. I love listening to everyone's opinions, studying the teams, studying the situations, looking at power ratings...that's the fun of it. The wagering, the winning, the losing, the horrible beats, that's my least favorite part of the process.
Problem is, sportsbooks don't care whether the line moves in your favor, or you know more than Joe Public, or you have a nice breakdown of a game. They'll only pay you if you get nail the outcome. That's the only thing people care about, "did you win or did you lose? If you won, then I'll pay you."
