Scott didn't really have an audio for his Play Of The Day on First preview, so here is his writeup on the play he gave out on the show.
Analysis: I'm recommending a play on the Cardinals on Wednesday. Jon Lester is coming off a good performance allowing no runs and three hits in seven innings in a 1-0 win against Milwaukee. Nevertheless, the Cubs haven't won since that game while St. Louis has won eight in a row and off to its best start ever at 20-6 including 13-2 at home. St. Louis batters who have faced Lester have a .337 batting average and .984 OPS against him. Meanwhile, Lance Lynn gave up one run and struck out 10 in seven innings against Pittsburgh on Friday. Lynn is 22-6 in April and May since 2012 and 28-11 at home. Also, Lynn has a 3.28 ERA vs the Cubs the last three years. He's looking to avenge a 2-0 loss at Wrigley Field on April 8. The Cardinals have won 20 of their last 27 against the Cubs at Busch Stadium. More of the same. I'm recommending a play on the Cardinals on Wednesday. Thanks & GL! Scott Spreitzer.
