In "What Did Bettors Learn" Scott and Ken take a look at some of the MLB divisional playoff races.
Last night Madison Bumgarner had a near perfect game and it seems to be all Ken's fault that he lost the perfect game. On he radio show last night he announced that Mad Bum had a prefect game going and then the next batter he faced it was over, Bad Ken.
Shoemaker for the Angels have stepped up of late when they needed it with the loss of Richards.
James Paxson is on a roll for the Mariners as well, as he has allowed 8 ERs in his last 39.1 innings of work. Seattle isn't likely to catch the Angels or A's, but they are a half game up on Detroit for the 2nd Wildcard spot. Ken Still feels that somehow Detroit will work their way into the post season, while Seattle's offense may not hold up enough to carry them.
Scoring 4 runs or more vs the A's are the way to beat them because their offense has really taken a dive and no relief is in sight for them.
Scott is still bother by the way the Pirates have stayed pat at the trade deadline and the waiver deadline. The Pirates need more offense as their pitching doesn't look like it can carry them into the playoffs.
St Louis is another team that needed to get a solid bat as they never really replaced the bat of Carlos Beltran. They have been hitting better of late, but is it sustainable for them. Ken feels that both Pittsburgh and the Cards are in a lot of trouble. Milwaukee should get there, and he also feels tat the Giants will make a big push as well for a wildcard spot.
