OK, before you all ask if we have lost our minds (you wouldn't be the only ones!) in looking at the Tampa Bay Rays, at least hear us out. We are aware that the Rays have dropped 14 of their last 15 games and their offense has been completely anemic this season. We also understand that they are facing Cards stud Michael Wacha (4-4, 2.61) tonight in game two of the series. We also know that they have been shut out in three consecutive games! With all of that under consideration, we are going to recommend a play tonight on the home doggie trying to get the ship righted. The Rays will send out Erik Bedard (3-4, 3.61) who has actually been really effective for the Rays but simply hasn't gotten the run support. The most important thing we are looking at in this game is the fact the Bedard is a lefty and the Cardinals have simply not demonstrated the ability to consistently hit left-handed pitching. The Cards are 2-8 in their last 10 interleague games against left-handed starters and they are 0-7 in Wacha's last seven road starts. Regression to the mean and the desperate nature of this game for the Rays leads us towards the home team tonight. The Sharps say...
